FDA list of recalled pet products

http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/petfoodrecall/

Thankfully, nothing I feed the fab five (Angel, Cheyanne, Angelo Biscotti, aka Biscuit, Bandit Jack, Sarah) are on the list!

Unfortunately, an Ol' Roy product that is being fed to my mother's dog is, but only in the 55 lb. bag, which she doesn't have.  It was so hard to write that sentence present tense, the dog was my dad's constant companion.  That poor little dog is grieving the worst of any of us.  He doesn't understand at all.  :'(  I wonder why not the smaller bags.  Aren't they usually the same stuff only packaged different?

eek, natural balance is on there, not the specific kind that i feed polka, but maybe i should find another dog food, maybe one thats made in the us.

I read an article today that said Natural Balance now tests their own pet foods and you can check the results of the tests online by putting in the expiration date.  However, I can't seem to find info about it on their website...hmm... ???

The link is in the big blue box right in the middle of their homepage.  Here's the link: http://www.naturalbalanceinc.com/PetFoodScreening.tpl

Oh, wow, I feel super dumb  :-[  I was looking all over the page (margins, top, bottom, etc.)...never thought to look in the middle...I think I need a nap  ::)

Thanks for pointing that out, veganchristine!  I think that's such a good idea that they have that!

LOL I'm the exact same way!  The more obvious things are, the less I notice them!  I always tend to focus on the fine print and ignore the big bold headings.  So glad to know I'm not alone.  :)

Off to check my dog food...

Why haven't heard anything about this in the news? Apparently companies who poison our animals are getting a free pass on this one huh?
*GRRR* Thankfully my pet food was not on the list!
