New member to our family!!!! The perfect addition. He's the one that called out to us most at the shelter. He's about 3, and the best mannered dog I've ever encountered. He's a blue heeler/Australian cattle dog mix. He loves snuggles!!! Everyone at the shelter loved him.

cutie!
Awww! Congrats to both you and Olen! :)>>>
There is a special place in Heaven for people who rescue animals from shelters. Bless you and your new furbaby who now has a forever home full of love.
i love that he needed a home with no chickens! no problems here!
Isn't that so funny? (well, not funny for the previous chickens..) That's like the first thing the lady said, too. "Do you have chickens?"

:)>>> That was easy for them! lol. No chickens. Female dogs - hopefully he'll find some lady friends at the dog park.
He's beautiful! I love the pic with you resting your head on his chest. The expression on his face is just completely chill. Lucky dog... lucky human!
Hahaha. The no chicken thing made me giggle.
Hes a cutie!!! I want to give him hugs.
Gabby, my baby girl doggy was the same mix.
They are loyal, loving, even tempered, and HIGHLY intelligent!! So be warned!
Oh, AC, I'm so excited for you! He's precious!
Congrats, AC. He's gorgeous! I love blue heelers. My brother has a red heeler...mix or something. Sweet doggies!
he looks lovely and so cute. <3
It looks like he's settled with you already. So so jealous - I really want a dog.
We've heard him snore, make stretching sounds, and grumble...but no bark! He's heard all imaginable sounds-dogs barking, dogs growling, dogs snapping at him, dogs in his face, fire works, loud cars, etc. ...but no bark, and no signs of bark. It's fine, I just hope he wasn't punished for barking, or have debarker sugery.. : ( He's so scared of loud things.
congrats allison! australian shepherd dogs are so intelligent! did you ever decide on what dog food to feed your "baby"?
Has he been to a dog park? If he was going to bark anywhere, I'd guess it'd be there.
We bought some Natural Balance (I think) veg. food before we got him, and they gave us a smaller bag of the food he had been eating (Science Diet) at the shelter. We've been mixing them until he eats all the smaller bag. The Natural Balance was the only veg. food we found, so that will be what he has.
We haven't gone to a dog park, because I don't know where one is! He's been with/by lots of dogs, though. My (parents') dog even snapped in his face (she's old : \ ), and he didn't do anything.
ohh, I missed this. Still, congrats on finding such a lovely addition to your family, he looks like a happy soul and I'm so pleased the chickens are safe now : )
My in-laws' puppy doesn't really bark either, but that might just be because he's a ninja...
I missed this too! I saw your FB pics. so cute!
I like the size of that dog. What does he weigh?
Congrats!
and did he come with the name or did you name him?

He's labeled as "medium," and he weighed 42 lbs when we got him. He gained a .5 pound the next time we weighed him..like a week later. He's a smaller heeler-lean, but stout. That was actually his name when we got him, anddddddddd P's brother's name is Olin! How crazy is that?
how does Olen get on with Lil AC? : )

He's indifferent! She doesn't stare at him enough.
