Pet food contamination may have been intentional

The chemical contaminant may have been intentionally added to pet food to boost its protein content!

This was from NPR Morning Edition and they have not posted the story to npr.org just yet.

Anyone else hear this?

My DH had thought it might have been intentional in the sense of someone who wanted the animals to die...there are a lot of sickos out there like that, unfortunately.
