Salem cat "got his wings"..

I had to put my dear old kitty to sleep last friday... :'(

It was a long time coming... and it was a decision I knew I would have to make and one I've been dreading for months.  But once the decision was made (pretty much for me) and the deed done I felt a weight lift off my shoulders.  I know we did everything we could for him and he's not suffering anymore.

I've had some very "interesting" conversations about death, cremation and "what happens next for kitty" with my two 5 year olds over the weekend.

I miss him lots and still look for him in the shadows...

I'm sorry K2, saying goodbye (no matter how temporary it may be), is always difficult. Becomes even more so when explaining to children. My sympathies.

Oh, and be assured, Salem is definitely in the shadows looking to pounce on an unsuspecting dust bunny!
