Got my new cookbooks VWAV and VCTOTW...

and I have to know where to start, which is good and what I just *must* try first.

Vice Cream is on its way or I'd start there...

Oooooh, I just made "your basic chocolate cupcakes" yesterday. I make mine with extra dark cocoa and they are SO good!  :D They remind me of the devil's food cake my mom used to make! Happy Eating! You really can't go wrong with any of the recipes though! I have a Vice Cream book, but haven't used it yet. Please share your results once you've tried some of the recipes.

i'm about to make the chickpea and broccoli casserole from vwav. I haven't tried it yet, but i've made the baked tofu recipes and they were REALLLL good. Made me see tofu in a different way, I make it a lot more now. All the sweets in vwav are good, especially the ginger sparkle cookies and the ginger-macadamia nut-carrot cake. I like ginger.

as for vctotw - two words - tiramisu cupcakes.

I really like the stewed tofu and potatoes in miso gravy.  And my omni husband ate my leftovers, too.  Here:  http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=16351.0

Yep.  I'll make some perfect mexican rice and beans.  The leftovers get eaten in a tortilla with a TON of freakin' cheese.  That's just not right.

I just made (and pre-tasted  ;D ) the Mexican Chocolate Rice Pudding and it is outstanding.  I also just assembled a lasagna with her Tofu Ricotta.

The corn fritters are good, too if you like that sort of thing  ;)

I've had the book about 2 weeks and I keep thumbing through it, getting inspired.

There are sooo many tasty recipes in both books!  A couple days ago I made Isa Pizza (p. 131) from VWAV.  (I made it a little easier by using a flat ciabbata bread that I sliced for the crust.  I left out the mushrooms just because I didn't have any.  I also used a jarred pizza sauce from TJs.)  The combo of the pesto, ricotta, and kalamata olives is fantastic!  I also love the Brooklyn Pad Thai (p. 180) and The Best Pumpkin Muffins (p. 52).  As far as her cupcake book, I seriously doubt there are any bad ones.  All of the cupcakes I've tried have been delicious!
