Very good! One of my favourite coffee cakes to make. I always replace the walnuts with almonds. (dannibazaar)
I liked it, but my bf not so much. (haricot)

Black Beans on Toast

Eeny Meeny Chili Beany on Toast

Wolffie's BLT Brunch Casserole

Sleepy Sunday Morning Scramble

Salsa Scramble
This makes a good tofu scramble but nothing special in my opinion; I think I prefer the recipe for Sleepy Sunday Tofu Scramble. I love avocado but it blended in with the scramble so much that I could hardly taste it anymore. BTW I didn't use the salsa recipe from La Dolce Vegan for this scramble but another homemade salsa picante. Of course it's important which salsa you use since it has such an important role in this dish. (gnoe)

Betty's Salsa
The only difference I made to this was no cilantro, as I didn't have any - I thought this would be major, but the salsa turned out great without it.  I also just eyeballed the amounts for the canned chilies, as was not making a full recipe, and we don't have same sized cans as she recommends.  I loved this salsa - I tried a bit on it's own and it was really good - much better than expected.  I would never have thought of putting celery seed in salsa but that gave it a great flavour.  Will make again. Pretty good.  Nothing special.  I don't know that the rice vinegar is all that noticeable.  I think it would be fine to substitute apple cider or white vinegar.  I used fresh basil and added some red chili flakes for a little spice. (lotus)

Claire's Macaroni and Cheeze
The only thing from this book I wasn't entirely pleased with...it was meh. (dannibazaar)
Makes a nice creamy sauce. Had to reduce the milk to one cup to get a thick enough sauce. The milk dilutes a lot of the cheese flavor, but it's a good way to stretch out your vegan cheese budget. I usually add some nooch and cayenne to make up for it. I also use a dash of dry mustard instead of the dijon. (kristinv)
I love this recipe. I made it with Follow Your Heart Cheese, which doesn't melt as well as Daiya, and it tasted amazing. (haricot)
I wanted to try this, because it's very similar to my usual mac and cheese, but uses the flour. It's good, but I like mine better, and no flour needed! Daiya is enough to thicken the sauce, and it can cook down as needed. I also like to add quite a bit of nooch to up the flavor. As is, this was a mild flavor, but still creamy and good. (AC)
Roasted Cherry Tomato Pasta

Roasted Cherry Tomato Pasta with Kalamata Olives and Capers
Surprising recipe. I added toasted nuts as suggested in the intro. I would definitely make this again. (haricot)
Pasta with 5 Minute Roasted Red Pepper Pesto
was one of the first dishes I made as a newbie vegan and it has become an instant favourite! I've made several times already -- such an easy recipe & really yummy. I served it to mega-omni friends and they loved it so much they asked me for the recipe! I'm not using as much garlic as the recipe calls for though. And if I don't have enough fresh basil I (partly) use a basil herb cube instead. (gnoe)
Pasta with Fresh 5 Minute Basil Tomato Sauce
So good! I didn't measure the basil, but used way more. This sauce is so fresh and tasty. I wouldn't normally process a fresh tomato sauce, but this works really well. It gets a little watery, but I don't mind. I would only suggest adding more basil, but it doesn't need anything else. Will definitely make again. Only takes the time for the pasta to cook. (AC)
Excellent and healthy. This recipe is easy to make, not too hearty and different from the pasta dishes I usually eat. The sauce is raw. (haricot)
Gerry's Quick Broccoli and Hot Chili Pepper Pasta
Quick, simple and excellent. This is a four ingredient recipe. I made it with flax oil and I loved it... but you have to like the taste of that oil. (haricot)
Punk Kin Pasta
Excellent and different. I often don't know what to do with pumpkin purée, so I often end up making this recipe. It's fun to eat, very saucy and full of sausage crumbs. It doesn't take a long time to prepare. (haricot)
Spaghetti and Tofu Balls
Excellent. (haricot)
Portobello Cannelloni with Sun Dried Tomato White Sauce
We both loved these!  I made them and then thought with the lack of ingredients that they would be plain and boring, but no way - they were great.  I managed to find cannelloni that didn't need precooking before going in the oven and so it was also pretty simple to make.  N really enjoyed the bits of sun dried tomatoes in the cheesy sauce, so may use that again for other recipes.  N has said I could make this again - always a good sign. (shelloid)
Dilip's Stuffed Manicotti with Roasted Red Pepper and Porcini Mushroom Sauce
awesome.  I made these recipes for guests who are all meat eaters and they loved them. (islandvegi)
Instant love. This was my first time making and eating manicotti. I had a hard time finding those pasta in the store, but the rest of the ingredients are easy to find. It doesn't take such a long time to prepare either. (haricot)
Gerry's Artichoke Heart and Basil Pasta
Great recipe. It stands out from other recipes and I thought it looked fancy. (haricot)
Peacefrog's Artichoke Heart Pasta
Very good. (haricot)
Jen's Creamy Basil and Sun Dried Tomato Pasta
Very good. I added more salt and some vegan bacon bits though. (haricot)
Marianne's Goulash
Amazing! (haricot)
Matthew's Spicy Tomato Peanut and Kale Pasta
Terrific. I think that was my first time eating kale, a couple of years ago. (haricot)
Mock Beef and Rice Noodle Toss
Okay, well I kind of just used this as a sort of inspiration. Instead of using seitan, I marinated a cup of chopped tempeh in the teriyaki sauce. I used a half of a vidalia onion rather than a small red onion, added 2 cups of steamed broccoli, and used two cups of cooked brown rice in place of the rice noodles. So it was kind of like a stir fry sort of deal. It tasted really good! I'd like to try it with noodles sometime, but the rice was just waiting to be used up. Next time will be noodle time. (dannibazaar)
Wonderful. I like eating this with chopsticks. (haricot)
Phebe's Mushroom Stroganoff
Wonderful. (haricot)
Red Lentil Pasta
Very good, but kind of bland. (haricot)
Rice Entrees
Teresa's Garlic Shoot Stir Fry
This is a great recipe to cook a lot of garlic scapes. The sauce is absolutely out of this world, although a tad too salty. (haricot)
Cinnamon Spiced Roasted Veggies with Couscous
Excellent. The tastes are not too strong. (haricot)
Wendy's Lentil and Brown Rice Casserole
Okayish. Not overly flavourful or anything like that. Just meh. (dannibazaar)
Delicious and filling. (haricot)
Veggie Goulash
Not too bad. Didn't expect a whole lot, but wasn't disappointed. I did the recipe fairly closely, but added some garden green beans, and some penzey's smoky seasoning (with the smoked paprika). I used the 2 tsps paprika. I did it with the brown rice. Pretty good meal. Healthy. (AC)
Just okay. (haricot)
Aloo Gobi Potatoes and Cauliflower

Blessed Broccoli and Tofu Stir Fry
Delicious. (haricot)
Bountiful Beans and Brown Rice
Excellent. (haricot)
Curry Fennel Cauliflower Bake
This was disappointing. Turned out really dry and lacking flavor. (kristinv)
It's good, but nothing more. (haricot)
Eileen's Sesame Ginger Stir Fry

Emira's Speedy Gourmet Kale and Tofu Delight
Excellent (haricot)
Fail.  Did not like this at all.  I'm not sure what I didn't like, but I think it's just the plainness of it all and that balsamic vinegar just wasn't right and that kale and tofu are a bad pair.  I used a whole lb of tofu instead of a 1/2 pound and didn't add any pine nuts at the end.  To make it taste better I drenched it with Maggi seasoning and that helped some.  (tweety)
Magnificent Mixed Beans and Bulgur
Didn't work out well. The bulgur never ended up cooking. (dannibazaar)
Just okay. (haricot)
Fantastic.  Everything came together real well for a very tasty main course meal.  I used 2 15 oz. cans instead of one 19 oz. can of mixed beans but otherwise followed the recipe.  I liked the method of sauteeing the eggplant and then not simmering but 10 minutes, which kept the eggplant from becoming mush.   I like how the fresh tomatoes were added at the end rather than cooked, it added a great dimension of flavor.  Total redemption from the fail mentioned above. (tweety)
Vegetable Biryani
love it!!!  I hate peas so I used pigeon peas instead.  I used brown batsmati rice instead of white, so I cooked the rice separately and mixed it together at the end. (tweety)
Extraordinary. (haricot)
Shirley's Cajun Red Beans and Rice
I used quinoa instead, as I already had a rice dish the day before and I like variety.  It was very good.  I forgot to add the sugar/sweetener and I didn't miss it.  I like hot and spicy food and it was fine...even added extra cayenne and hot sauce.  Yummy! (tweety)
Just okay. (haricot)
Miscellaneous Entrees
Tyler and Phoebe's Perfect Pesto Pizza

Veggie Pot Pie
Perfect. This is my go-to pot pie recipe. I've made it countless times. (haricot)
Tip Top Tofu Loaf
Just a note - double the recipe to have it in a 9x5 pan. Otherwise you need to use a mini-loaf pan to have it "fit." The recipe described as is would result in a wicked thin tofu loaf (dannibazaar)
Excellent. (haricot)
Groovy Garden Vegetable Casserole

Pinto Bean Casserole with Tortilla Chip Crust

Karen's Mexican Burrito Pie

Black Bean and Sweet Potato Burritos
Not that long to prepare. Excellent recipe and filling. Make sure you put the full amounts of spices. I replaced the cheese with nutritional yeast. And I cooked the burritos in the oven. (haricot)
I loved these!  The flavours were fantastic and they were really easy to make.  In the intro she says that they take a bit more time to make than others in the book, but I thought it was real quick for a substantial meal.  I baked mine in the oven as I like how the tortilla goes crunchy and even with the 15mins baking, it was probably only about 40 mins total.  N also loved these and said I can definitely make them again - he liked them enough to say I should serve them to guests! (I didn't use the optional vegan cheese, and don't think they needed them)

I've made this several times and it was always a hit. It's just perferct, and on the fancy side. (haricot)
Emily's Meat Loaf
Excellent recipe. My bf finds it tastes like real meat loaf. (haricot)
We loved this!  I probably haven't had meat loaf in like 25 years, but I had a craving for it.  This recipe totally satisfied the craving.  Instead of burger crumbles, I crumbled 2 packages of tempeh in the processor and browned it in a skillet.  I also added about 1/2 tsp browning sauce.  Other than that, I pretty much followed the recipe.  I served it while it was still really hot and it did not hold together well at all.  The leftovers were much firmer and sliced nicely.  The next time I make this, I will cook it a day before serving.  Seriously delicious! (lotus)
Jay Lo's Fried Chicken
One of my favorite recipes from this book. I make it using the chicken style seitan from the same book. It's real comfort food. (haricot)
Mushroom Sausage Pizza
Amazing! (haricot)
Portobello Pot Pie
Absolutely yummy and easy to make. (haricot)
Wolffie's Southwestern Corn Casserole
Genius. Quick. It tastes cheesy even though it doesn't contain any fake cheese or nutritional yeast. It's also quite spicy. (haricot)
Tofu Roast
A keeper. It takes a while to prepare, but it is totally worth it! Make this for the holidays. (haricot)
The Joint's Cheeseburger Pizza
I was skeptical about the combination of pickled, mock ground meat, and mustard, but it rocks. (haricot)
Tomato Walnut Crusted Fried Chicken
Freaking awesome. I could eat this every week. (haricot)
Baked Chili with Cornbread Biscuit Topping
I really enjoyed this chili, but my boyfriend thought the biscuit topping was too sweet. (haricot)
Sauces
Claire's Cheeze Sauce

Wolffie's Nutritional Yeast Cheese Sauce
This is not very good. I wasn't expecting much because the ingredients seem bland, and it was. I was hoping maybe it would just be a nice mild cheeze, but it's just blah with an off flavor. Doesn't taste like much, but what flavor is there is not that enjoyable. Not worth keeping the leftovers. (AC)
My boyfriend, my dad and I just love this sauce. We've been eating it at least once a month for the past few years. I've tried several nutritional yeast-based "cheese" sauces over the years, and this is the best by far... but I am a nooch-lover. And that sauce only takes a few minutes to prepare. I sometimes eat it with a spoon. (haricot)

Malloreigh's Mushroom Gravy
A nice, hearty gravy. I used cremini mushroom because they have a stronger taste and opted for the chunky version instead of putting it in the blender. I added some chopped cashews (15 gr) for a topping and the nutty flavour was a great addition. When I try the smooth version next time I'll probably make the cashews part of the sauce. (gnoe)

Weird. I didn't like these at all. (dannibazaar)
These were melt-in-your-mouth... I really enjoyed those little doughnut holes with all the sugar and cinnamon they are dipped in. I did rolled them too big, but it didn't matter in the end. (haricot)
Vesanto's Choco Currant Cranberry Squares

Jae's Peanut Butter Fudge
I wish this worked out, but I SUCK at making candy. I screwed this up so bad. I can't remember what went wrong, but it was the first time I ever used a candy thermometer/made a candy, so I inevitably screwed up and freaked out. I'll try making this again sometime... (dannibazaar)
This was the first fudge I've ever made that I didn't completely screw up. It was sooooooo tasty too! Would definitely make again (and again, and again). (kristinv)
I've made this recipe twice. The first time I thought it was amazing. It really had the same texture of store-bought fudge. It was overly sweet, but I mean, this is fudge. I was less successful the second time, but I blame my skills and my candy thermometer for it. (haricot)

Mom's Chocolate Pudding
I've made this recipe countless times for my boyfriend who loves this, even though he's not vegan. I find it just okay though. It is a very easy recipe to make pudding at home with few ingredients. (haricot)
This is pretty good. Not really much better or worse than other vegan chocolate puddings I've made. I need to perfect my own recipe, because all others seem too gelatinous to me. The flavor was good here, and very quick and easy to prepare, but texture not right for me. Super quick dessert, though. (AC)

Hal's Maple Chocolate Flax Brownies
I like these. The combo of maple and chocolate is actually rather tasty. (dannibazaar)
I've had two people sample these brownies and they were very popular. (haricot)
Maple Flax Squares
Amazing. This is one of my favorite square recipes. The flax seeds really give this an amazing texture that reminds me of a non-vegan dessert my mom used to make. I omitted the maple extract and it still tasted great... like maple syrup squares. Highly recommended. (haricot)

Wolffie's Snickerdoodles
Not snickerdoodle-y at all. More like a cinnamon-sugar cookie. But good anyways. Just not a snickerdoodle. (dannibazaar)
I love these snickerdoodles. I was overwhelmed by their taste. (haricot)
Simple Oatmeal Cookies
They were ok.  Not very sweet but that is to be expected since there's only 3 tablespoons of sugar in the whole batch.  What bothered me the most about these cookies was the texture....just didn't taste like the oatmeal cookies I remembered as an omni/vegetarian.  I'd make them again except I'd add another tablespoon of sugar and a lot more raisins or even chocolate chips to make them even more sweet. (mirrya)

Mama Mayhem's Perfectly Easy No Bake Cookies
Freaking good. Couldn't get enough of them. (haricot)
Made these thanks to the review above ^, and so glad I did! These are perfect for summer. So good and quick, and no heat, except a little stove. Yum. I was surprised there are no chocolate chips in the recipe, so I added a handful. I don't know how they are without them, but loved them like this. Chocolately, with a bit of peanut butter, and oat texture. I used pecans for the nuts. She says you get 8 large cookies, but she must be making cake sized cookies. I think I made like 15 tablespoon sized cookies. Will make these again, and try variations.  (AC)

Stephanie's White Diamond Cookies
I finally got my hands on white chocolate chips, so I had to try those. They were good, nice and puffy, but I would only recommend them if you're in the food for chocolate cookies AND peanut butter cookies at the same time, because they taste like both types of cookies. (haricot)
Wolffie's Peanut Butter Cookies
Eh...I didn't like these. They were crispy, which I don't like in a pb cookie. (dannibazaar)

Kalamata and Sun Dried Tomato Soda Bread
Excellent bread, very tasty. (haricot)
Sarah's Sandwich Spelt Bread
I liked this bread a lot, although my boy friend did not. I liked how the sunflower seeds turned green after cooking. I left the bread in the oven for 55 minutes, and that was more than enough. (haricot)
Kissing Cousins Oat Bread
This was just alright... (haricot)
Cumin Spiced Quick Bread

Chapati Flat Bread

Wolffie's Buttermilk Cornbread
Excellent. I like to serve it with chili. (haricot)
Very surprised by this cornbread! I did double the sugar (6 tbs), but otherwise stuck to the recipe. I like a sweeter cornbread. This turned out quite good. I baked 25 minutes, and it's not dry at all, with perfect cornbread texture. Flavor is excellent. Super simple..took me about 5 minutes to mix together. I was skeptical of not mixing the milk and ACV together first, but I guess it works well either way. I wouldn't be opposed to this again. Even P, the biggest cornbread hater of all time, had a piece and said it was "fine." (AC)
Jen's Raisin Soda Bread
Wonderful. It's great for breakfast, toasted and with margarine... the suggested addition of a teaspoon of grated orange zest is a must. And don't bake it for more than 40 minutes. (haricot)
Simple Sassy Soda Bread
Excellent. It's important to add the optional sesame seeds, so that the bread is not too boring. (haricot)
Easy French Bread
For some reason this ends up different from the recipe from GOV. Good all the same, but I prefer the other. (dannibazaar)
Delicious! P said this was his favorite bread I've made, and one of his favorite things overall. I didn't have huge expectations for it, because it seemed like it'd be pretty normal, but it turned out really well. I used my stand mixer/dough hook, and probably about 3 1/2 cups flour. I made 2 medium loaves. 1/4 cup sesame seeds is too much to toast for these. I would maybe do 22 minutes next time, instead of 20, but P liked everything as is. I don't really think you can test bread with a toothpick? That won't necessarily tell you that it's actually done. Anyway, great, easy bread. (AC)

Sassy Sandwich Bread
I have a loaf of this going at all times. I just LOVE it. It is the best. (dannibazaar)
I loved it. I made it in my bread machine. (haricot)
Basic Baking Power Biscuits
Quick and super good. I also recommend adding poppy seeds. (haricot)
Banana Currant Rice Flour Muffins

Bran Muffins

Wolffie's Eggnog Muffins

Wolffie's Banana Blueberry Muffins
Awesome! I love everything about them...the combo of blueberry, banana, and molasses is so tasty. (dannibazaar)
These are delicious!  I always love molasses in banana bread recipes.  I used whole wheat pastry flour, so they were a little dense, but still moist.  I used 2 sm-med bananas, reduced the sugar to 1/2 cup and only used 3 tbsp of oil.  I used grated fresh ginger instead of ground and used more than a tsp because we love ginger.  I baked them for the entire 25 minutes.  I will probably make these again. (lotus)
Mine didn't turn out well. The muffins were way too dry. (haricot)
These didn't work for me either. The texture was awful. I ended up making bread pudding with them because I didn't want to throw a dozen muffins away, too much waste. (vgnwitch)
Hayley's Lemon Cranberry Muffins
Amazing. A nice change from the muffins I usually bake. (haricot)
Cinnamon Apple Muffins
These are to die for. (haricot)
Stephanie's Sugarless Power Muffins
I like these quite a bit. They taste healthy, which I dig. I usually add chopped almonds for a textural kick. (dannibazaar)
Cumin Rice Flour Muffins
Not good. (haricot)
Fragrant Onion Dinner Rolls
I really liked these, despite them being a tad too dry. (haricot)
Sesame Bread Sticks
Very, very good. I think I liked these more than P did, but I'm not sure why they weren't his favorite. He did like them. I think the texture is perfect (light and fluffy, crispy top) and very flavorful. I used a few white sesame seeds and mainly black for the top. I mixed it all by hand and didn't knead for long. There's not much instruction for the best way to make these breadsticks, but I just hand shaped them instead of rolling out. I somehow did get 10! I guess I made them about 6". Mine rose for maybe close to an hour instead of 20 minutes, and I think they were pretty perfect. 15 minutes for baking was right on; the tops browned nicely. Would make again. (AC)
Brown Rice Flour Banana Bread
Yummy, considering I've never been a fan of banana bread. I love it was a shmear of raspberry jam or marmalade. (dannibazaar)
Miki's Pumpkin Bread

Scrumptious Banana Nut Bread

Homemade Graham Crackers
Not very graham cracker-y. Needs more molasses. (dannibazaar)

This is only sort of a recipe, because it's the first step to the faux meats. The measurements worked fine, but I've found I prefer to use some kind of broth or add seasonings instead of just using water. (kristinv)

Tastes good but not that "chicken"-y. I'm okay with that. I do like the nooch flavor here. Be VERY careful not to let it boil at all...only simmer. Otherwise the texture gets rubbery and squeaky. (kristinv)

Pretty good base. I used this as a sauce instead of a marinade. I increased the garlic and ginger, and added some rice wine vinegar. I also added some mushroom broth and cornstarch+water for the sauce. Was quite good, but a bit too sweet for me. Good on mushrooms and broccoli. (AC)

Cinnamon Walnut Coffee Cake - Very good! One of my favourite coffee cakes to make. I always replace the walnuts with almonds.

Breakfast Brown Rice Pudding - Pretty good. A bit too liquidy, but that could be on my part.

Danica's Popcorn Balls - Didn't work out for me. That is probably because I used tub margarine (smart balance lite with flax). I might try this again with EB.

Frenchie Onion Soup - Yummy! I should make this again soon.

Seaweed Soup - This gave me a stomach ache for some reason. Will not make again any time soon.

Simple Leek and Potato Soup - Simple and delicious. It's just your basic leek and potato soup, but what's wrong with that? It's a keeper.

Quick Ginger Carrot Soup - Pretty good. I prefer carrot soups that have curry powder in them, but this was good enough to enjoy thoroughly.

Tomato Cabbage Soup - Tasted just like the title would suggest. Cabbage soup that's tomato-y. Good for what it is, I guess. It's not something I would make a lot.

Wendy's Lentil and Brown Rice Casserole - Okayish. Not overly flavourful or anything like that. Just meh.

Magnificent Mixed Beans and Bulgur- Didn't work out well. The bulgur never ended up cooking.

Tip Top Tofu Loaf - Just a note - double the recipe to have it in a 9x5 pan. Otherwise you need to use a mini-loaf pan to have it "fit." The recipe described as is would result in a wicked thin tofu loaf :p

Cinnamon Doughnut Holes - Weird. I didn't like these at all.

Jae's Peanut Butter Fudge - I wish this worked out, but I SUCK at making candy. I screwed this up so bad. I can't remember what went wrong, but it was the first time I ever used a candy thermometer/made a candy, so I inevitably screwed up and freaked out. I'll try making this again sometime...

Hal's Maple Flax Brownies -  I like these. The combo of maple and chocolate is actually rather tasty.

Wolffie's Snickerdoodles - Not snickerdoodle-y at all. More like a cinnamon-sugar cookie. But good anyways. Just not a snickerdoodle.

Coconut Chocolate Chip Cookies - Lacking something. Just not the best cookies I've ever made or had...

Rachel's Chocolate Chip Cookies - Not the best, but not the worst. I'm not big on cookies that have tofu in them.

Wolffie's Peanut Butter Cookies - Eh...I didn't like these. They were crispy, which I don't like in a pb cookie.

Siue's Chocolate Chocolate Brownie Cheesecake - I wanted this to work, but um...it didn't. I'm not exactly sure how it was supposed to turn out, but I'm sure whatever happened to mine wasn't right. It was flat and just...wrong.

Yella Cake - My go-to vanilla cake. Just love it. It always works, but in cake and cupcake form.

Sharon's Black Pepper Coffee Cake - My go-to for coffee cakes. It's just so yummy...I love the cinnamon-sugar topping, and the cake is so moist and delicious. I can even make it a little low-fat without it tasting like it is.

Tara's Chocolate Cake - Pretty much just like a typical wacky cake. Always dependable.

Easy French Bread - For some reason this ends up different from the recipe from GOV. Good all the same, but I prefer the other.

Sassy Sandwich Bread - I have a loaf of this going at all times. I just LOVE it. It is the best.

Wolffie's Banana Blueberry Muffins - Awesome! I love everything about them...the combo of blueberry, banana, and molasses is so tasty.

Homemade Graham Crackers - Not very graham cracker-y. Needs more molasses.

Pasta with 5 Minute Roasted Red Pepper Pesto
The Pasta with 5 Minute Roasted Red Pepper Pesto was one of the first dishes I made as a newbie vegan and it has become an instant favourite! I've made several times already -- such an easy recipe & really yummy. I served it to mega-omni friends and they loved it so much they asked me for the recipe! I'm not using as much garlic as the recipe calls for though. And if I don't have enough fresh basil I (partly) use a basil herb cube instead.

Sesame Miso Vinaigrette
I like this easy dressing although it's pretty salty. I've made it with red miso and will try white next time. Especially good in a salad with legumes like green beans.

Yeast Free Pizza Crust
This is really good! Easy and tasty. Think 'American pizza' though, not European! ;) I'll be trying this as a savoury pie dough someday as well...

Faux Sour Cream
A nice addition to (for example) a Mexican meal but it doesn't really taste like sour cream.

Vegan Apricot Cheesecake
This is very good but the tofu needs to be drained.  I reviewed this recipe in depth on my blog, www.peacefultable.blogspot.  Thanks for this page on VegWeb!

OMG that's looking absolutely delish! Will need to make it someday. :)
I believe you should knock on bread to hear a hollow sound, meaning it's done?

Looks good! To test to see if its done, all you have to do is tap to see if it's hollow. I generally only bake this for 20 minutes though, just for reference. Try the recipe from The Garden of Vegan if you have it...it is actually slightly different, and I like the recipe a little bit more than this one :)

Salsa scramble
This makes a good tofu scramble but nothing special in my opinion; I think I prefer the recipe for Sleepy Sunday Tofu Scramble. I love avocado but it blended in with the scramble so much that I could hardly taste it anymore. :(
BTW I didn't use the salsa recipe from La Dolce Vegan for this scramble but another homemade salsa picante. Of course it's important which salsa you use since it has such an important role in this dish.

Mushroom gravy
A nice, hearty gravy. I used cremini mushroom because they have a stronger taste and opted for the chunky version instead of putting it in the blender. I added some chopped cashews (15 gr) for a topping and the nutty flavour was a great addition. When I try the smooth version next time I'll probably make the cashews part of the sauce.

Oh yeah. I knew about the tapping on it to see it's done and whatnot, I only said that because she mentions using a toothpick to test it, and I thought that was weird! Thanks!

Sweet Basil Dressing

Pretty good.  Nothing special.  I don't know that the rice vinegar is all that noticeable.  I think it would be fine to substitute apple cider or white vinegar.  I used fresh basil and added some red chili flakes for a little spice.
