2009 Vegweb meet up (offical California potluck)!
aka August Sconefest! :D
Below is the link to the official registration page. In other words, this is your RSVP. It will be really helpful to get a good idea about how many people to expect. The registration page is purposely not very detailed, but once you register, we will have a list of all of your emails. So, make sure you enter your name (you can put your VW name in parenthesis, if you wish), and your correct email. We'll start to send out some questions once we have a few registration emails. Hope to see you all there! :)
The registration is at the top of the page, and you can enter how many "tickets" (you know, how many people will come) you want.
I am officially excited. Only 5 more months!
Yes, tickets are free. They aren't actually tickets. They are RSVP's. Saying, "Yes, I would like to plan to come to this and receive up to date info about it. Here is my email." It is not a binding contract. It is a head count and a way of sharing information.
Since it's kind of a big thing, we wanted a centralized way of keeping track of people that wasn't public. Get it?
so, will actual scones be involved?
d'oh! my brain is broken today.
I RSVP'd for Sconefest. I am not sure if I can go (if I dont get a job then cash will be tight).
What would be cool would be to see like 25-50 people RSVP and attend so that next year or in two (plus) years we could do something even bigger, like plan a mini convention in like Portland and get some good deals on hotel time / conference space to visit.

Portland would be nice..if we're still here, then. Good deals? Whaddya mean? You better come this year. :o
eta: 14 people are registered, so far..about 4 months to go..so, that's pretty good!
Planning a mini convention would allow a representative or organizer to negotiate with a location or hotel for their best rate based on the number of "customers" attending. I think it would be loads of fun to have like 300 vegans from various internet spots come to one location to hang out for a weekend. Though something smaller and informal is just as exciting.
It seems like so far a lot of the people registered are from the east coast area... where are all the west coasters we're going out there for?
