August! Barbeque! Albany Area, NY!

Yah, so I'm planning late.. what of it??
In honor of L2A's visit to the capital region the first week in August, and the fact that we wanted to have a Big-Ass-Vegan-BBQ sometime in August, I give you -- this thread.
For people with interest in such things, I present the following 2 choices:
1. Sunday, August 2nd, Big-Ass-BBQ
2. Saturday August 22nd, Big-Ass-BBQ -- Sunday August 2nd, smaller gathering, still rockin'.
i have some divided plates. OMG they are potluck perfect. sweet. all my foods won't run togethers
Coming from the person who makes large thanksgiving conglomerations.

I am thinking of going to Faire on Saturday and then up to Albany Sunday, so my contribution may just be something like cupcakes or scones that can hang out in a hotel room for a day before the potluck. Dunno plans yet though. Will keep everyone updated though!
oh, called out. but i dont want my jello mixing with stuff. that is really the issue.
Fair enough! Jello would be a bizarre addition. You want me to drop off your bundt pan one day?

You are, of course, welcome to come up to Albany earlier in the day and prepare food here if you want to. I'll just be cleaning my house at the last minute or something equally pre-party.
I think a red, peach and blue would rock. mmmm Strawberries, peaches and blueberries. /drool

oh yes! let's do a co-op run. later in the week would be better. the first part is OMG CAR SHOP. and then i can get a list together of stuff to buy with your discount
DR and i are buying a car. cause she got a new job and has to drive there.
LF is also coming and plans to bring sweet potato fries. cause she likes them.

i will be making that terrine but in a loaf pan. i like the squareness of that shape. yumm, jello.
also, likely bringing rice salad. yum. i haven't made that in FOREVERS
How would Friday work for you? I was thinking of doing a co-op run mid-day on Friday, and then coming home and baking cookies and making ice cream for ice cream sandwiches. (You're welcome to join me for that portion of the day as well if you'd like!)

I'm glad I'll finally get to meet B and A (and baby). They'll probably enjoy chatting with Emily & Jon -- Eli is just a little older than their baby.

raw cheezcake
a fruit salad
baked beans
ice cream sandwiches
smores
lemonade
pasta salad (maybe?)
coleslaw (maybe?)
someone might be bringing kebobs
I assume Scott is bringing Crock Cheeze
I'm trying to twist people's arms here into committing to something AND I CAN'T!!
I plan on a baked good and the snooty Avocado and Grapefruit salad.
What flavor baked good shall I bring? My favorite Lemon? Chocolate? Marbled? Pumpkin? Someone gimme an idea!

Lemon is so my favorite. I dont seem to ever get tired of it. So if there are no screeches of dismay, Lemon it tis!
ohhhh this sounds soooooo good. but ugh, the bus is $72 and i can't justify spending that. have fun you guys!!
It's because no one wants to come to Albany... and... so... they charge more to make less people want to come??
