Everybody's invited to participate in the third annual Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale (WVBS) - April 23 through May 1, 2011.

The idea is simple: Groups across the globe hold vegan bake sales any time between April 23 and May 1. Participating groups can do whatever they want with the proceeds.

The WVBS was named “Veg Event of the Year” by VegNews Magazine, and was covered by CNN.com (http://www.cnn.com/2010/LIVING/04/30/vegan.bake.sale/).

So far, groups around the world have raised over 65,000 dollars via the WVBS for various worthy causes. Your bake sale can be a fundraiser for your group, or proceeds can go to a local or international charity - you choose.

Holding a bake sale may be easier than you think. Once you get your venue, the rest is relatively easy. Again, the veganbakesale.org web site has lots of help.

Compassion for Animals (http://www.compassion4animals.org)  coordinates global publicity for the event, and we leverage the event as best we can to get positive press about the bake sales and about the health, environmental, and ethical benefits of a plant-based diet.
