Western CT Potluck - October 4, 2008

Who would be interested in coming to my house for a potluck? Danbury CT is easily reachable via car off of I84, Metro North Train and even Amtrak.
The date is October 4th and anyone is welcome from 10am till 10pm (or later if prior arrangements have been made, like a pup tent!).
My kitchen is not huge but I have enough entertainment area that even if it rains we can still have quite a crowd.

That was Cali's sammy, and I think it has hash browns, the fake egg tofu, a slice of cheeze, smart bacon, and a slice of tofurkey. I must have fried up 50 pieces of bacon... and all was gone less than half an hour later.

Regarding the McVegans, I was like, "Holy shiitake, this is waaaaay too greasy! I can't eat the whole thing!" But I managed somehow. ::)
What napkins? I don't see napkins in the pictures on Cali's blog and you, Miss kmk, haven't posted anything on your blog since NYC.

Well, I'd post them right now, but my camera is all the way in the car and I'm too forking lazy and it's cold outside. I honestly can't remember what y'all looked like. I was too busy having a heart attack.

My local grocery store has vegan english muffins so that is a Stop & Shop Lite Multigrain English Muffin containing Simply Potatoes Hash Browns, The Bridge Tofu (made the mcVegan way), LightLife Smart Bacon, LightLife Bologna and a Tofutti Cheese slice. The tofu is local to me, made in Middletown CT and is delish!
I have even MORE pictures to put up today of games and pie! Which all the leftovers in my house are now gone.

We get The Bridge tofu in bulk here at the co-op as well. It is the BEST tofu ever!

Dearest KMK...I hate to inform you of this, especially in your fragile (pregnant) condition, but I am holding your bowl and bamboo cutting board ransome. The ransome fee (if you don't mind dealing with terrorists like me who hold kitchen supplies ransome) is the recipe to that yummy pie you made. :P You have until tomarrow night to consider this offer and then we can arrange to meet, perhaps this weekend (?) or else you can come to my house one evening (?) to exchange the hostages for the recipe. If I have not heard from you by then, I will have to come up with some sort of idea about their fate.

Oh, guys! We played Scattergories (or Tofu Scramblegories) and we changed all the nonvegan items to vegan ones. For example, "Things at a circus" became "Things at a KFC peta protest" and "Dairy products" became "Soy products." Hehe.

The Very Merry Hempsters let me down. How could they do this to me. The box said Vegan that I grabbed it out of. But it clearly contains beeswax. I am so sad and confused!
Apparently their web site shows the organic ones are not vegan and my health food store obviously intermingled the two. *cries*
I gotta say, that food pr0n is on the "ugly" end of the spectrum.
The kale is pretty, but the rest looks like garbage. It really does. Tastes amazing, looks like slop. ;D
The balls are decent-looking.
Oh no, it's nothing to do with the photographer, that's just what the food looked like!
