I just bought both at the health food store. Now, what to do with them? LOL
If I am to understand it right, amino acids are for a "salt" like taste? And Flaxseeds I can pretty much use in anything? Anyone have any tips for me. THANKS! ;)b
Your talking something like Braggs Amino Acids, right? If so yeah, you can use it to season foods pretty much like soy sauce. It will give foods a saltier taste.
As for flax seeds...did you buy the whole seeds? If so just grind them up in a coffee grinder and mix with water to make an egg replacer. Sometimes I just add a few spoons of coarsely chopped flax seeds to things I am baking for a little extra nutition.
for baking i use flax eggs which is 1tbsp ground flax + 3 tbsp water= 1 egg. so far it's worked for me in everything ive tried it in. i'll also mix some into pancake or waffle batter for extra nutrition and i always sprinkle it on my cereal or oatmeal. make sure you grind it up cus in its whole seed form your body can't get to the omega 3's.
When I make peanut butter, or any nut butter for that matter i add in ground up flax for the omega 3's. My sons will only eat flax this way, but they eat a LOT of PB!!!
I also put it in waffles and muffins instead of egg. And in granola bars.
If you have a dehydrator
flax crackers are excellent and so easy to make
