Are there any interesting uses for traditional dill pickles?

I know that people put relish in some mayo-protein salad things (like tofu salad, chickpea salad - aka: stuff I hate), but I really love garlic dill pickles and want to experiment with using them as an ingredient in other recipes.  I'm thinking that they could be finely diced and used where you would want a tangy flavor - as a sub for lemon or vinegar, maybe?

Any ideas?

Maybe I'm crazy... After all, I am the same girl who just cooked tofu on a waffle iron.  ???

There's an old German recipe for lentil soup that uses rings of dill pickle. You could sub tofu pups or something for the sausage slices. Basically it's a normal-type lentil soup plus the sausage and dill pickle slices.

Doesn't tartar sauce have finely diced dill pickles?  You could make tartar sauce and something that sort of resembles fish/seafood.  Or use the pickles in some other kind of dressing/sauce.  Maybe like a caesar salad dressing.

Fried dill pickles (slice, batter or crumb, deep fry).  Doesn't really sound like something you'd eat, but it's an idea.

Fried pickles are the SHIT.

Minced in mashed potatoes (add some pickle juice, or boil the potatoes in it!).
In potato salad (add some pickle juice too!).
I also like to add pickles into my homefries sometimes. Works better if you bread and fry 'em, but just tossin' 'em in is good too.
Pickle juice in a bloody mary with a pickle garnish.
Make some chowchow relish.
My Russian friend makes pickle soup. I've never tried it, but he says it's delicious.

I just put a few slices on salads sometimes - I like the idea someone else posted of pairing them with lentils. I think I'm going to try some cooked lentils and chopped pickles on a salad today :) Would be nice with some cooked beets, too...
