Candied yams - you won't miss the marshmallows!

Years ago a member posted this recipe for a sauce to pour over sweet potatoes. It sounds unusual, but it is sooooooo good, I thought I'd share it again since there are so many new people.

You won't miss the marshmallows!

1/2 cup flavorless oil, like safflower
1/2 cup maple syrup
1-2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
dash of salt

Measure ingredients into a small bowl. Mix well & let sit for a few minutes. It will turn into a thick sauce. Pour over prepared yams in a baking dish & bake till yams are tender. I have a note that if you're making enough yams for a 9x13 pan to make 1 & 1/2 times the recipe.
