Chocolate Covered Fruit

I want to make my nan some chocolate covered pineapple wedges but I've never done anything like this before. I was planning on either melting a bar of bakers chocolate either over a double boiler or trying to melt a little bit at a time in the microwave. What I'm not sure of is if I need to add anything to the chocolate? Any sort of cream, milk, butter, sugar?

Recipes for coating usually call for a small amount of shortening or butter(eb). I just melt it in the microwave for a few seconds. It will still look solid, but when you stir it gets all melty. Just be sure not to get any water in it.

So just add some vegan butter to the bakers chocolate and microwave it?
