Enoki Mushrooms?

I've been seeing these alot at the supermarkets lately and was wondering what their taste was like? We're HUGE fans of mushrooms...haven't met one I didn't like yet!

also wondering if you cook them whole (stem and cap?)

they are great. yes you cook them whole. i use them in stir fry. we get them here in assorted mushy packs with shimeji, straw, wood ear etc. they cook quick so add at the end and be carefull not to smash them up. they have a delicate shroomy taste........cant explain you will just have to give them a go. let us know how you like them.

ok cool..next time Im at the supermarket im going to pick them up. i can't wait! I haven't been able to get wood ears lately..guess they are out of season..I've been picking up oyster and shiitake alot lately..shiitake being my absolute favorite shroom.

wood ears are fantastic! i love throwing them in with snow peas and broccoli

enokis are fun, too. cook them whole in a nummy stirfry (be liberal with the ginger!)

I can't eat ginger..makes my stomach feel not so good.
