Hello,
In preparation for Thanksgiving, I was browsing the site for some pie recipes and found some really awesome-sounding recipes that I would love to try, however, I'm kind of partial to using graham cracker pie crusts for chocolate pies, I really love it. I was wondering if anyone had a recipe to make this, because I prefer to make it from scratch. If anyone has a recipe and would like to share, it would make me very happy. Thanks!
1 1/2 cups graham crackers
1/4 cup sugar, or less
1/3 cup melted earth Balance
Combine graham crackers with sugar and butter and blend until the texture of coarse meal (this is easy to do in a food processor). Press into a 9- or 10-inch pie pan. Either bake first (8 to 10 minutes at 375 degrees) or fill immediately and proceed with pie recipe directions. Makes 1 pie crust.
I love graham crusts. I have to make extra cuz I always sneak a few teaspoonsful for snacking!
do you think i could do this in a blender? :(
you can also sub the graham crackers for oreos!
thanks for the recipe Lezly. A chocolate pie just isn't the same without a graham cracker crust. Happy Thanksgiving!
Wow! I never knew Oreos were vegan! Yuuuuuum!
always chek the label because the ingredients are forever changing in these, but i know for a fact that double stuf oreos are vegan and a lot of store brand oreos are vegan as well!
thanks for the recipe Lezly. A chocolate pie just isn't the same without a graham cracker crust. Happy Thanksgiving!
And to you too, my veggie friend!! :)
