Hummus... the base.

Hummus is so good for you and sooooo easy to make.

Here's the base.

* 16 oz canned garbazano beans. Reserve the liquid. Are you fucking kidding me? Use the dried ones at half the price. They are much nuttier. Use water of choice when blending.

* 1 tbsp olive is fine for a snack. Don't use Pompeii unless you're willing to die.

* 2 tbsp tahini. I bought a dozen cans at the local Wal*Mart for a buck each when they closed out all middle eastern and kosher food.

* 2-4 tbsp lemon juice.

* 2 cloves garlic smashed.

* 1/2 tspn sea salt

That's the base. Now you can do whatever makes your tummy feel good. Don't reduce anything unless you have heart problems. Kick up the stuff you like. Remember that hummus also loves basil, cumin, dill, sun dried tomatoes, soy milk, red peppers etc, etc....

Whoops...I meant red pepper....not the plural kind. ;D
