My new toy

Several years ago I bought a name-brand food processor. Didn't use it very much, considering the amount of space it took up; and it always bugged me that you drag it out, set it up, run it for about 10 seconds and then have to take it all apart to clean it. So I may have used it all of about 15 times. And suddenly it quit on me! I'd had it for at least 6 yrs, so it was so not under warranty.

So I went out and bought a regular old blender. I got one on sale at LIDL for about 24 Euros, and it is a powerful thing! Ground up raw, soaked garbanzos in nothing flat. And a lot easier to clean than the FP. All the small appliances I've bought there so far have been good (still using the electric kettle I got about 10 yrs ago, and I use it at least once a day, usually more).

Not earthshaking news, I know. But I  :)>>> good appliances.

I hear you on the food processor thing. I rather mix things by hand then break out that bulky thing!!! I love the magic bullet which is like a mini blender that is really strong. It's small and works great! And easy to clean to boot!!!!! I also love great appliances. They make the world a better place.  :D

Nice!  Nothing like a wonderful new kitchen appliance!  And food processors are monsters.  I like mine, but rarely use it.

Yabbit, that's really cool!  That must be some really fancy blender to be able to do that. what else are you planning on cooking with it?

I'm hoping to be able to make all-natural tomato sauce that DH won't complain about. He seems to confuse "sauce" with "juice." And soups that he will eat; if all the bits are invisible he can eat vegetables....just as long as they don't show!
