A religious answer to health

Now, I am not a bible thumper, but the verse in Genesis about what God gave us to eat is something I take to heart.  With all of the other stuff on here recently, I thought I'd show yet another thought.  Besides, there are plenty of motivations for being vegan and I say the more the merrier, hop on the wagon!

"...a steady diet of salads, nuts and smoothies"

I had a friend who followed this H-diet thingy and the kicker is those vitamin and mineral supplements, and the "barley stuff" mentioned in the article, which the founder sells and which are NOT cheap. Apparently the diet is not balanced since it requires a lot of supplementation. I know many veg*ns who are in good health and don't need a lot of extras...natural is best IMHO. Of course maybe not everyone knows about VegWeb and its great recipes and helpful info...I do my best to spread the word!!

The only thing I am careful to supplement is B12 and only because there are not rich vegan sources for this essentially vitamin.  Other than that, I figure moderation and variety will provide appropriate balance.

I have friends who say they can't afford fruits and vegetables, but you should see what they spend on animal flesh!  I don't buy animal flesh, so I liberally spend on any veggie I want to.  Word to my friends, tater tots are not a vegetable, they are garbage and something they have offered me I could not choke down in a month of Sundays.
