soy milk for milk-milk lovers?

hey all!

so i just got off the phone with my dad--the proud omnivore--who just so happens to be out of town on business

he was telling me that he met up with a couple of guys he knew, and was shocked at how their health had declined, even since he last saw them.  now, my dad is borderline diabetic, so seeing these old friends of his really suffering from the same disease somehow made him think of me, veganism, how much healthier i've been since i made the switch, and i guess essentially, made him think about why it is that after all of this time, he would rather stay set in his ways than give my "bunny food" a shot ^^;

so yes, after a long conversation, it turns out that his major reason for not wanting to attempt going vegan (of all things!) is milk ((lacto-ovo doesnt quite seem to be the answer for him, because he is still very much a meat fan, and is more concerned about dairy specifically))

i drink silk, love silk, and because nobody else in my house has ever expressed any desire to stop buying dairy, have had no reason to expariment with brands other than silk.

my dad isn't such a fan though--"it tastes like wheat" "it has a weird aftertaste" "it leaves my mouth feeling powdery o.O;"--

so my question to you all:

has anybody had a similar problem with finding a milk substitute that tastes more or less like milk (for whatever reason...personally, i think soy tastes better, but i suppose that isnt going to cut it >.<; )
or, could anybody recommend a brand of soy/whatever milk that might stand a better chance of holding up to his taste test?

lol i know we aren't going to find 100% flavor match here, but i really want to at least try a few new products, since my dad finally seems willing to do so...tough opportunity to waste, you know!
