Vegan Gal

Hey Everyone! I bet a lot of you know this site--but I'm still new enough to be niave in thinking I am finding grate new vegan treasures! Any ways--for those of you unfamiliar with vegangal check out the site--she has some yummy recipes and a video that can help new vegans. I really liked listening to her because she seemed so laid back--I didn't feel that veganism was some strict, daunghting, unattainable thing that only the most compassionate, the most dedicated people could achieve. She just walked through shopping and meals easily with out preaching--she even admits haveing set backs and thankful their are no "vegan police"--arn't we all! As some of you may know from other threads I am having a serious battle with cheese--her advice really helped me to have better ideas and options without making me feel like i was losing or giving up anything! Hope this helps others too!

I think the clips are only a few minutes of the hour long DVD that she has--I borrowed a copy from the library and I really enjoyed it--she just really made me laugh--I doubt she will give you any new information--it's just that the way she presents veganism is so easy you can't help feel good about going for it!

I borrowed the DVD from the Library and thought she was pretty interesting.

My only issue with her was I don't think all the food choices she made wile visiting Whole Foods were Vegan. It could just have been me though, are the Morningstar CornDogs vegan?

I remember when I initialy became Vegan I would use the PETA I Can't Believe It's Vegan list and found out later that some on that list were not...

Anyone else seen the DVD?

I got the dvd from the library too... I don't know. wasn't that impressed. the recipes were interesting, but I thought her presentation was bland and her personality... a little annoying. just my opinion though. :)

I also didn't think all of her choices were vegan--but she seemed to be more like "I try my best to be vegan" as opposed to "I am a strict vegan" I think that is what I liked about her--she made me realize that everyone handles their vegetarian/veganism differently--it's not like were playing D&D and the strict vegans are like level 15 vegan masters or something--I know vegetarians who eat jelly beans and marshmellows not caring they have gelatin and that's just OK to them (I happen to disagree on that point...but it's not for me to police them). Anyways--I can defintly see how veteran vegans wouldn't be interested in her--she seemed like a beginners level to me :)
