I don't remember all that I eat every day, but dinner is the main cooking meal for me.
Last night we had green chile bean burritos with potatoes, peas, and cilantro and baked jalapeno poppers.
Tonight I plan on having Asian slaw, rice with green onions and sliced almonds, and cinnamon sugar bread.
homemade deep dish pizza
do you take pics of your meals? i wanna see them!
AC's Thai Soup - I hope I have all the ingredients for it.
Zucchini crab cakes and salad.
My new version of Tarka Dal. I started out with a VW recipe and modified it to the place I wonder if I should submit the recipe!!
yes please!!!!
dinner tonight = sauteed seitan w/ satay sauce, broccoli, mustard/maple glazed potatoes & green beans & stir fried bok choy.
and it's a very late one.

yabbitgirl, where do you find all of your inspiration for all of your delicious sounding Indian dishes? Do you modify recipes? I've been having a craving for Indian recipes lately and have been looking about for some good recipe inspiration :)

Yes, that's kind of what I do. I read, try, taste, and modify/change about according to what I have on hand, what I like, and who's eating with me. Of course I've been cooking for about 40 years so I have a lot of experience!!
Start with ramkicooks.blogspot.com (the One Page Cookbooks site) which is really good for people who are just starting. Rami de-mystifies a lot of Indian cooking by teaching you about combining tastes and ingredient categories. He never uses difficult terms and fancy words! You can download his 1001 South Indian Curries free at http://www.mediafire.com/?nyy0dibfly1 (No affiliation, yada yada, I just like to share good resources when I find them.)
There are so many good Indian food blogs out there! Some are hard to understand because the writers' first language isn't English; but I love Indian Food Rocks (www.indianfoodrocks.com), which is where I got the inspiration for my slow-cooked Lime Pickle. She posts step-by-step instructions with photo tutorials so you can see exactly what she did and how, with excellent close-ups. And her recipes really work, which is always good.

Modified one my sister gave me:
2 cups shredded zucchini, patted dry
Replacer for 1 egg (I used ener-g)
2 Tb Vegenaise
1 cup breadcrumbs
1.5 tsp Old Bay
1.5 tsp kelp granules
Combine all ingredients and form into patties (about 1/4 cup each). Bake at 350 for about 30 min., turning once.
They're pretty good. They could probably stand some jazzing up though.

I'll be right over.
I wish, SB, I wish.
thanks VD i wrote it down... still never purchased old bay though... need to do that!
full fat new farm mac and cheeze (with chickpeas and broccoli) AND tots!
tots! I bought tots for the first time ever recently, for an AVK recipe the husband wanted me to make. Nice, but freaking expensive, will not buy again! haha
for dinner tonight:
creamy fennel potato salad
something else...
expensive tots?! tots are cheap! mine were actually "crowns," slightly different than a tot.
no no no, potatoes are cheap.
; )
but a tot is something magical.
haha, which is why I bought them once!
But probably never again!
10kg bag of potatoes: ~$7
500g bag of tots : ~$3
tots here on sale are like $2.50 or $3... i wonder how they actually make these tot type creatures... never seen a tot recipe... would it be like shredding potatoes and shaping them in tot form then frying?!

I translated some stuff once on freezer tunnels (someone wanted EEC funding). Yup, they are shredded potatoes which they cover with a mixture of flavouring and potato starch and then they are shaped and flash-frozen. The extra starch (and salt, and antioxidant so the tayto doesn't turn grey, and etc) helps them stick together and maintain their shape.
I stopped buying frozen potato things (precut fries, tots, dauphinoise etc) when I realised that they release a lot of sludge into the fryer because they're covered with it and it comes off. And spoils the oil for any other purpose, even if you strain it. And then I bethought me what that same sludge was doing to my body.
