the BOOBS thread

written "BOOBS" and not "boobs" to maximize the semblance to boobs.

continued from the "'you're kind of heavy for a vegan'" thread. We were complaining about boob size, but anything boobs-related goes here. Complaints, praise, musings, whatever.

I usually wear out my bras until they're crying to be thrown away. It's partly laziness, part comfort, and part the face that it's so hard to find a new, comfortable bra. I can go try on bras at Target, buy the most comfortable one, and suddenly when I wear it at home... not so great akshully. This happens with about 1/2 the bras I buy... making the bras not as cheap as their pricetag makes them seem!
So, I usually have a probation period for new bras, where I keep the old, dead one it's supposed to replace *just in case* for a while.
I have one old (maybe 7-8y), cute bra. I don't wanna give it up because I can never find a cutesy and comfortable bra. AND it somehow fits both boobs even though they're uneven. It's like, magic.
I think eventually I'll stop caring and switch over to old lady bras.

What does an old lady bra look like?  I wonder if I already wear them as I have no interest in all things bra.  Mine are all mostly dark grey cotton demis.

I'd wear this one, even though it's girly girl:

From the looks of it, that's not even a bra! It's like a see through sexy thang. I wouldn't even feel comfortable wearing that, and I'm just like a B1/2.

Something like this, is a "granny" bra

to go with granny panties

Sports bras have less coverage than granny bras!  I don't think I could wear a granny bra.  There's too much fabric for surface area.

my boobs felt nice today. sometimes i just rest my hands on my boobs or just hold them because it's comfortable (people stare when i do this hahahaha) but i was like hey, you girls aren't too bothersome today, good girls". heheheh good boobies.

I love that bra, HH!  I'm such a freakin contradiction.  I'm not really into fashion...except for underwear.  I hate wearing bras (and panties for that matter), but I love pretty ones like that.  You know, the pretty ones or hot ones that aren't really practical for everyday wear?  It doesn't make sense.  For the record though, I'm way too small to wear a bra like that one you posted.  It would look funny.

ETA:  I was referring to the first pretty lacey bra you posted, not the groping one. ha.  But that's awesome in it's own rite.

I do, too!  I've been looking at it.  I think it's completely home-make-able.  The lower band could be made of knit fabric and the shoulder straps of satin-y material, with edging around the lacy lacy cups.  It could either be made of old closet clothes or thrift shop finds.  Even with fabric store fabric you could make loads of bras from a quarter yard each of fabric for the band, cup, and strap.  Bras habitually fall off my shoulders, so I'm liking the idea of a homemade properly fitted bra.

Mine always fall too!  Ugh.  My shoulders are so narrow.

Agreed, bras are obsencely expensive. Some of my friends can pull of a $20 job but mine are atleast $40. Its hard to fathom that fabric and wire could be so damn much money. I'm also one of those people who wears one bra lk all the time until it is pretty much completely unsupportive and more of a nuisance than help or until the straps break or underwire pokes through, ouch!  I hate washing them because I feel like they get more stretched out and less supportive when I do but I have never had my washing machine eat them, wow! :o I guess they weren't kidding when they said hand washed but who has time for that?

I feel your pain Trinket and Courth... I gave up wearing strapless long long ago. The only dresses or bathing suit tops for that matter that I can feel enough support in are halter tops with a thick halter strap. Strapless bras are crap, I usually just wear my regular bra and tuck in the straps while having the halter help with support. Even with halters I have to be careful to make sure I'm not showing too much and looking lk a stripper. Its a fine line, and sometimes even when I feel like they look alright the reactions of idiots around me make me feel otherwise and want to cover up.

On a totally random note in response to GFVeg and Cat... My dude said watching them bouncing is one of his favorite parts when we' re getting down. It still hurts my back and even my boobs but usually I'm too distracted by other things taking place.  In some positions when they're "hanging in the air" or hit me in the face  it gets a little annoying and embarrassing. He is totally into it though, even when we are on a bumpy road and their abouncin' he gets that smile. IDK, boys are silly, so are boobs.  (Sorry if that was TMI, lol)

PS: Great example of granny bra, Don't think I could ever wear one cause "the girls" like their air and would sweat too much! (TMI? sorry)

PSS: Granny porn?!  :o :o :o Oh my!

I have 32 DD`s and their obnoxious. For one its really hard to find a bra in that size that isn't a million dollars or looks like something my great grandma would wear. I'm starting to think that all the clothing designers out there have little boobs and hate girls with big boobs. Another thing that sucks is my selection in shirts because the cute little tops my friends wear make me look like a total slut. :-[ I have a smaller frame and they really hurt my back. My posture really sucks because of them beings so heavy I rarely sit up straight. I need to work on strengthening my back muscles. I have two bras that fit but I'm down to one because the straps broke on my other one and it always happens... I seriously have had like 5 bras and a million spaghetti strap shirts break. It blows to spend 50 bucks on a bra and have it break.
I like to go running but have to wear two bras to keep from hitting myself in the face.  The only thing that is good about them is that they can hold drinks and the guy I'm into is in love with them and they make me feel confident when I'm around a lot of other girls. Not so grea is when they bring more attention than I want like when some idiot yells out a window or in a mall "Hey, you have big boobs!" Really? I hadn't noticed... not like their attached to the front of me or anything. I used to be mortified by them growing up, I started getting them in the 4th grade no lie I had a B cup, by 6th grade a C cup, 9th grade a D cup and DD by the time I graduated. Girls in elementary and middle school used to make fun of me and say that I had fake boobs and I would go home and cry every night. I still think that kind of haunts me becuase I think people are laughing at me but I have kind of become used to them now and their fun for naughty purposes, ha ha.
END BOOB RANT...

I'm sorry, did I sleep walk, make a new usename, and write this post sometime when I wasn't aware? Ditto to...100% of this, except I was a D by 5th grade. Only difference! We're like boob soul mates.

I kindof feel like I could be a 30 and not 32?
Just because I start off wearing them on the tightest one generally, and then they stretch and get all loose and then I can't have the straps tight enough because the back just comes up instead of it doing its whole job of support. Hrmm.

Yep, you're a 30. I had to do the same thing. I'm on the middle in a 30, and it's so much more comfortable. It actually stays in place now.

i feel SOOOOO bad for my friend carley. she's really skinny except for her boobs. she has DD boobs and today she was looking for a dress for her cousin's military ball and we were at the mall for hours and she left empty handed because she was literally spilling out of all of them. :/ she was disappointed

i just don't get this! I wonder how I can be a 34. I wonder if I have been wearing the wrong number all of my life.
did you measure under your pits to find this out?
or under the boob? i forget how it works.

I'm pretty sure its right under your boobs.
Then for the cup size its your boobs plus 5. Subtract the numbers.
0=AA
1=A
2=B
3=C
blahblahblah.

I think? Idk.

weird, I just measured and I'm 34 in around but I have to wear a 36 :(
Sarah, I don't get what you mean about boobs plus 5, etc.
