You are here

meat and your sex drive...

Has anyone heard the ridiculous claim that people who don't eat meat have a lower sex drive than those who do eat meat because there's something in meat that revs up the ol' sex drive?  I've heard this one a couple times and it makes me so angry!  >:(  Like people need meat to be "normal" or something.  Argh!

I was just picking on you HH, we (Michiganders (in my area)) bash other parts of the country too...but why can't we all just get along???

Absolutely.  As soon as the rest of the country accepts that the West Coast rocks!  :P

And rolls with all those earthquakes.  Sorry, I know, bad joke...I'll stop now.  :-X

The 'meat and your sex drive' thread sure does wander around...  :o  Is all this dubiously playful hostility in the last couple pages stemming from sexual frustration or something?  ???

You're right.  To answer initial question:  I've been in the same relationship (due to laziness mostly) since pre-vegan days.  I have not noticed any difference in any aspect of the relationship.

because of lazyness? interesting (i only say it because i study/am interested in how relationships progress!)

well, uh, i like making out with vegans.  ;) having recently had my first make out (how old am i again!?) with another vegan i could really really tell the difference. mostly in the small details-- smells, tastes-- things like this. granted, this is just one observation, but compared to the omnis and veggies i've messed around with, this was much "cleaner" if that makes any sense?

Yes, smell is significant as it triggers so many things, memories as well as emotions etc. My college days are linked to the smell of Irish Spring soap (and "M" singing "Pop Music"--the two go together and zap, I'm back in Bartlett Hall). And yes, omnis smell different. One of my college friends from Laos mentioned that, and it was the first time I'd thought about it.

Of course, he usually smelled of kimchee, his favourite food... ;)

It's one of those things where after multiple years neither of us feel compelled to call it exclusive, but neither of us feels compelled to put the effort into dating other people.  It's hard to walk away went it's convenient and the person at least has become a good friend.

ohh i get that one. i do that in relationships. i think it's pretty neat not to have that "what we doin" thing going on--that the relationship is just comfortable with itself

My bands name is "Life Crisis", so its just a way Ive been referred to from other people. But it fits pretty well, because Ive come to realize (through many people pointing it out) that I live and thrive when things are chaotic and unstructured.

So I just stalked your My Space page.  Very sexy belly shots!  ;D

I can't find it, but sometime last week, someone made the comment about veggie people tasting better and not wanting to kiss an omni saying "eww, you smell like cheese."  I have to say, this comment has been stuck in my head.  This weekend I had an "encounter" with an omni, and eventhough I occasionally eat cheese, I just could not stop thinking "eww, you smell like cheese."  Thanks!  Hahaha ;D

Oh! and I'm from the south.  Don't mess with the confedercY!  Hahaha! ;D

;D  And to think this whole US regionalism debate, much to Cephi's displeasure, was started by someone living in Europe.
