omg i love these.
i think ive moved past the being bored so i want to date someone stage - right now im at the 'dating doesnt even sound enjoyable' stage. i really enjoy not worrying about anybody elses issues but my own!
It wasn't so much dating. I actually don't think I've ever really dated in my life. I just jump pretty much straight into a relationship or just a sexual relationship. I am always up front about the nature of the relationship, though- does that count for something?
yes, honesty counts for something. the only times ive had things not get really weird was when right off the bat i told the person that i was not looking for a relationship and just not ready for one so don't get too attached. they appreciated the honesty and we'd continue to hang out and make out - but no sex. we'd slowly stop hanging out and even when i see them now things are cool with them.
Can I be an honorary member too? Pretty please?

I think I qualify as an existing member! I haven't engaged in sexual activity for almost a year and have never felt better. To be honest, I didn't sit down and establish a specific amount of time...it more less just evolved on it's own. Have I been tempted? Is my sex drive still the same? Of course but it's not something I toss and turn in bed about.(no pun intended) If anything, I've felt a refreshing, inner freedom that's been missing for a long time. So yes, I am united! ;)b

That's good. I've really never had a period of time where I had such regular sex. In the past I've had long distance boyfriends, and prior to that I was a pretty devout Catholic.....This was something nice and different. Oh well.
I too have been consciously engaged in such a moratorium stemming from from a few sexual encounters with an ex girlfriend last summer. Details will be spared.
Anyways, since then my rule has been no sex until after you have met them at least 4 times and had an engaging/interesting conversation each time. Any sexual activity up until then is limited to just her pleasure. This way if things didn't work out she can't go around saying I used her for sex and there are legitimate issues behind my decision I can explain to her that are non-sleazy. Thus far, no girl has made it past the third encounter and I am glad these rules are in place because I fear many more mistakes causing me more grief and drama may have ensued. In addition, I will add that during this period I have learned about my body very well and my masturbation experiences have become absolutely orgasmic as I've tried new things out. All in all, the moratorium is fantastic!
