I called my best friend (who I certainly hope is reading this!) and she strongly advised me to be low-key and to take things really slow.
Guess what? I didn't.

And if it makes you feel any better, I've had a moratorium on sex for........................ 4 1/2 years now. At least you're talking in terms of months! You can do it, and you'll be so much more happy and in-tune with yourself.

It's not complicated. It makes perfect sense. I like rules. I thrive on rules and structure. I have also spent my life for various reasons not knowing who I am, so this is good. I also need to focus more on my studies and less on study dates (especially since Wednesday's classes are uncomfortable now due to said "study date" occupying the same classroom(s) as me).

mdv - your 'friend' sounds so much like the guy i was 'hanging out with' but not 'dating' most recently.. it had been drawn out for awhile - with months in between that we didnt even speak because he would say such rude things to me.. now though we've been totally honest with eachother about that neither of us should be in a relationship so im hoping we can actually just have a friendship now because we do know alot of the same people and work in the same field so i undoubtedly know we will run into eachother again, unless he moves away.

It wasn't so much dating. I actually don't think I've ever really dated in my life. I just jump pretty much straight into a relationship or just a sexual relationship. I am always up front about the nature of the relationship, though- does that count for something?
