Austin and product help

Ok, Ive been vegan in El Paso but now Im in austin and I get to go to a whole foods in Austin and I was wondering if there are any products that I should get?!?!
Also if there are any restauraunts?!?

You should look on happycow.net.  There are several vegan restaurants in Austin.  I've been meaning to check them out myself but just haven't made it yet.

As far as WF...just wonder up and down the aisles.  You'll find many tempting goodies.  Tonight I picked up a couple cartons of Peppermint Chocolate soymilk here in SA.

Are you saying you've never experienced a WF before?

I'd never been in one until I moved to Texas in June.

I just came home from Whole Foods. I got so upset while I was there because everything was just so pricey! I didn't get half of the things I wanted because I couldn't handle the thought of spending so much money! Also, I thought they would have Teese. No Teese! Where do I get Teese? Anyway, I ended up getting some flour, chocolate chips, pumpkin, millet, and tempeh.

a.k.a. Meggs' freezer and yes, those are the perfect words to describe it! I get a nice sense of serenity when I enter the doors... sigh...

Ok, Loops, here's the deal, it's going to be a little expensive, but get one of each vegan item at the deli counter and then peruse the hot bar (next to the salad bar) for vegan items such as tofu(not egg) salad, oriental tempeh, etc... I don't know if the WF down there will have the same stuff as the ones up here (or if any of them have identical things for that matter) because it's all "home made" at each store. My store isn't making my Oriental Orzo currently, which is a little bit sad, but oh well.

And, as PPC pointed out, you can order a pizza with VEGAN CHEEZE now (at the end of the deli counter).

You can also get hot bar or salad bar stuff and eat lunch right there. It's all done by weight of food; it's something like $7.99/lb here.

Hmmmm what else....

If you go tomorrow, you can look in the back section or ask where the holiday items are (some are in the deli case) and get vegan cutlets or vegan meatloaf, vegan mashed potatoes, vegan mushroom gravy, some sort of rice with cranberries that is vegan and a few other things that they offer for their holiday specials. You can get them in large portions, already packaged.

Well, as far as Christmas goes, I can tell you what I'm doing! A seitan roulade with chestnut stuffing and mushroom gravy, courtesy of the VegCooking Blog. After seeing those pictures, I couldn't NOT make it.

Oh Meggs is right! The hot bar is bangin'! They make this awesome seitan and this sesame tofu and they have samosas and pakoras sometimes too. I totally forgot about the hot food. Yes. Go check that stuff out!

See, the sesame tofu is in the deli section at my store. But so, so yummy!  And the veggies... quinoa salads...
I go there and buy a bunch of salads, edamame, tofu, etc, and just make different combos for a week.
(lazy vegan, as Erin said)
