Denny's vegan burger

Oh cool! Now I wonder how much they'll overcharge for that burger! I love it that more places are carrying vegan burgers but even if I go to said places I rarely can bring myself to pay 8 (or more) bucks for something I can literally go and buy in the grocery store for much much much cheaper. I know this is the case with restaurant fare in general but it irks me that the vegan food is always jacked up in price, more so than "regular" (standard) food.

I wonder if it says "vegan" on the menu? Though as the link states it comes with cheese unless you ask for it without.

It probably doesn't say vegan. I guess the sesame seed white bun is also vegan, though. I dunno, I'm willing to try it once to see how it goes! Give it some love. It's always good to have more choices.

It's better than the disgusting unvegan Boca burgers they serve. I'm game!
I'm glad to see a company trying to expand to vegans.

If anyone does get it. I'd ask if they can microwave it.
I know they cooked the boca burgers on the grill with the other burgers in burger fatttt. And I'm assuming that hasn't changed.

thanks for adding that, i always "forget" that they do stupid shit in the kitchen. i might check it out here soon, was looking for a place to go out to eat for my birthday... my town prolly doesn't have the vegan one yet though.

We now have several vegetarian restaurants in my city, some of which will veganize a dish for you...but not putting in the ovolacto stuff raises the price!! And they are indeed pricier than the omnivore places. Good food, but tiny servings...and we all know that vegetables and beans and stuff aren't that expensive!!

That's the thing...by making veg*n restaurants ridiculously expensive they make it "chic" and "exclusive" but omnis are disgusted and think "I'm not gonna pay that". And veg*ns either can't afford to eat there, or refuse to because they know they how inexpensive those dishes are to make. So even though they're here they don't last.

>:( I HATED it...YUCK!! Denny's used to have a vegan burger that was perfectly fine...good, in fact. The Amy's burger...was disgusting! it looked like and tasted like...flattened out baby food patties w/some oatmeal thrown in to hold it together. What a WASTE of $8.00! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY folks!

I KNOW!!!! i am so super excited about it  :D and apperatnly a sports bar in town does a portebella mushroom burger that can be easily veganized if you tell em to hold the aoli. (the owner was a vegan for 2 years, he said it is just to hard in this town.)

why wouldn't they be chic and exclusive? veg*nism is a social fashon statement you know  ::)

about 7-8 years ago they had a vegan burger, but switched to the Boca one soon after (not sure how long they had that vegan one). At first the menu was tricky too, because with the new burger it sounded like it came with cheese (among the other regular toppings), but in fact there's cheese in that non-vegan Boca patty. Later they changed the menu to reflect that.

I know, I know an odd amount of Denny's veggie burger history. J practically lived next door to one before.

It must be regional then because we used to go to Dennys when I was younger ALL of the time and they have never ever had a vegan burger at the ones we've been to.

The vegan restaurants around here seem to be pretty regularly priced and seem to stay in business... california tends to be a health obsessed state so people are into healthy food :)
