Driving from RI to GA, need restaurant tips for the drive!!

Hi everyone! My hubby, 2-year-old son, and I will be driving from Rhode Island to coastal Georgia (and back), and I would LOVE to have some recommendations for vegan/veg-friendly restaurants along the way. We'll be traveling heavily on Route 95 so we'd especially appreciate tips/recommendations for restaurants close to Route 95.

So...New Jerseyans, Washingtonians, Virginians, North Carolinians, South Carolinians, and coastal Georgians...please give me your best recommendations! We'll be spending a month in coastal Georgia so we'd also love to hear about your favorite things to do...we'll be about an hour from Savannah and an hour from Jacksonville.

Thanks in advance!!

Pretty please?? Anybody out there???

Hmm...that's a good idea. I haven't had a ton of luck with that in the past, but maybe it's worth checking out again. Thanks for the suggestion :)

My fam comes from GA and I've spent a lot of time in the low country. I can tell you for vegan grub it's slim pickins.
The absolute best vegan restaurant in SC is on Hilton Head Island, which is about an hour away from I-95, so I doubt that you'd wan to go there but just in case it's called Roast Fish and Cornbread and they have a fantastic vegan menu of simple, healthy authentic low country/ cajun vegan grub. Kid friendly as well.

Since you'll be passing by Savannah, my fave place to go for lunch is Zunzi's.  An African sandwich place though pretty unappealing sounding, it's actually freakin amazing.  They have great iced tea too. The only seating is outdoors and they're 11-6 so be aware that you'd be eating in beautiful downtown, outside, or I guess you could take it back to the car. http://www.yelp.com/biz/zunzis-savannah

A trick I've learned through road tripping is stopping in the nearest town's health food store and picking up some pre-made grub or a juice from the juice bar. It's delicious, healthy, fresh, and cheaper than sit down.

Best of luck.
