New Vegan Cafe Opening in St. Louis, MO Area

http://www.vegadeli.com/

Check it out!  An all-vegan cafe is opening in Chesterfield, which is just outside Saint Louis.  The grand opening is this Sat, Nov 1.  I'm soooo excited  :>

Thanks for the info! I am planning to be in St. Louis with my bf over Christmas to visit his family. It'll be my first time in St. Louis and so far I have not been successful in searching ahead for vegan-friendly eateries in St. Louis. My bf mentioned an Ethiopian restaurant, but that's about it.

Does anyone here have any recommendations for vegan-friendly places in St. Louis?

I'm veg and live in St. Louis, so I can give you a few suggestions:

Shangri-La Diner (all veg): http://www.theshangriladiner.com/
VegaDeli (all vegan): http://www.vegadeli.com/
Cafe Natasha (Persian): http://www.cafenatasha.com/
OR Juice and Smoothie (awesome veggie burger, and I mean AWESOME!) : http://stlouis.citysearch.com/profile/36354482/saint_louis_mo/or_juice_smoothie_organic.html
Crazy Bowls and Wraps (veg options): http://www.crazybowlsandwraps.com/
Mokabe's (vegan brunch and lunch): http://www.mokabes.com/
Northwest Coffee (great coffee and vegan cookies): http://www.northwestcoffee.com/index.htm

There are a bunch more places too, in the U. City loop there is Saleem's (Lebanese food) and right across the street from that is Al-Tarboush which has the best falafel in St. Louis!  There are also three Thai places on the same street (Delmar) and all have vegan options.  If you go down on S. Grand (where Cafe Natasha is) there are several Indian, Thai, and Vietnamese places.  And the Ethiopian place you mentioned is down there too...and it has awesome food!  Best of luck  :)

Thank you so much! It's nice to have a few options in mind for when we meet up with my bf's friends during our visit.

This is so cool! I"m not vegan yet but trying.  I actually live in Canada but my mom was born in St. Louis so I have family there and in Chesterfield and have been there a few times.

I have suggestions too!

Local Harvest Cafe (http://localharvestcafe.com/) has amaaaazing locally roasted espresso, vegan cookies or muffins or scones (not every day, sometimes you get lucky and sometimes not), local vegan bagels with vegan lentil spread, local pb, or vegan cream cheese, and several vegetarian sandwiches that can easily be made vegan.  (A local pb&j, one with a lentil hummus and lotsa veggies, and I think another...)  One of the girls who works there is vegan so she's helpful.  They use Companion bread, and most varieties are vegan because they use minimal ingredients and don't use preservatives.

But my favorite place to eat in St. Louis is the Whole Foods Market in Town & Country!  (http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/stores/townandcountry/index.php)  They have an amazing selection of Asian foods, hot bar, soups, the freshest yummiest salad bar, vegan treats shipped from Chicago Diner...  You must go!

Meskerem Ethiopian Restaurant is on 3210 S Grand Blvd...  I love the vegetarian combo!
