New York, New York

So, I'm planning on going to NYC (again) for the weekend.
I was wondering if anyone had any tips on place to check out.
I like music, art, and opera-type stuff... and its cold soooo I can't just hang out outside which sucks...

also, cheap would be great....

Miro' is up at the MoMa through Jan 12, by donation on friday 4-8pm.
Gallery hop Chelsea any day aside from Monday.
Red Bamboo for lunch, stroll the West Village, jump into cafes for tea, read some, warm up and take off...
Sacred Chow for Meatball subs for dinner.

Anything you want, really!

If you're bored and feeling... sexy, you should swing by Babeland. I've been to the one in the Lower East Side and the staff is always friendly.

I always recommend dim sum in china town, the Metropolitan museum of art, 1 dollar to get in...if you want to maybe check out some music, I say cake shop on ludlow they have vegan treats there and a record shop/venue.  If you're going to be in Brooklyn I say head to lost and found bar, you get a free veggie hot dog with every beer/drink...hmmm yeah there are endless possibilities in the nyc :) have fun!

Oh def visit this bookstore while youre there: http://www.housingworks.org/.  I volunteered there this past year, they have used books galore and a percentage goes towards helping people/families with aids.  Its off West Houston Street.

I know this doesn't have much to do with anything, but I got my first tattoo in NYC when I was 18.
You could get a tatoo!  :)

If only I could remember... but that was quite some years ago, sadly. It's always cool to say "Hey I got this in New York" :)

I'm sure the NYers could tell ya!

Figured I'd update this thread for future adventurers to NYC.

I have gone to strand books, and it was AWESOME!  $1 books!  can't beat that!  and its huge!

Food-wise, where do I start, heaven!
Earth Matters, Babycakes Bakery, Sacred Chow (amazing tempeh and breakfast!)
Also, try out Vegetarian Paradise 2.

Mudd Coffee shop is pretty awesome too, I believe its on 9th between 1st and 2nd ave?

Its my new favorite place! haha.

Trade joes and whole foods on 14th st down the street from eachother.

I liked temple in the village a lot.
Tea Spot is close by, I used to sit there sipping, wasting time and getting paid.
