Seattle

We I just got back form my vacation in Seattle 2 weeks ago and I am still amazed about how great it was out there. The city was a nice city I guess as cities go but what I can't get over is the amount of out door activities so close the the city. Hiking, biking, skiing, boating all so close.

Being a vegan there and eating out is easy unlike Chicagoland, I didn't even hunt our vegan places but most of the places we looked or stopped at had something vegan on the menu. The weather was great and all the people we met seemed more laid back and not in a hurry compared to Chicagoland.

So I had a great time and would really like to live out there, now I've had these kind of pipe dreams after vacations in the past but they usually gone soon after I return but this one is not going away at all. I seriously want to downsize and move out there and even think about a carear change. My wife just thinks I have the return from vacation blues but I think it is more than that. I'll admit that my plan on making less money, living in a smaller house and having less possessions is a hard sell and it is falling on deaf ears!

There was no real point to this post really now I read it, aside from me saying how great Seattle is.

I'm in the Seattle airport right now.  It's pretty dang great.  That's all.  I've never actually been to the city itself.

The airport was the least exciting part of my trip to be honest:)

ooooh, you're making me wish i wasn't moving away from this wonderful place even more!

seattle is absolutely perfect for us in everyway except financially... which, unfortunately, is the winning factor for now.

so glad you had such a great time in Seattle.

I can second your sentiment, in that i've lived out here for about 2 years now and it's such a beautiful place to live.

I do love Chitown too however, walking around downtown, crossing over the many rivers, or walking along Lake Michigan - goodness, so beautiful.  Having already lived most of my life in Brooklyn though, i couldn't imagine wanting to live in a big city like Chicago again.
