seriously, something is horribly wrong with Paula Deen.

Deep fried stuffing on a stick, fried bacon mashed potatoes, fried cranberry sauce fritters, and fried pumpkin layer cake with approximately an inch of cream cheese frosting in the middle and on the top.

Deep fried stuffing on a stick?!! Wow. I thought deep fried stuffing was bad enough...but on a stick? Like a popsicle? That's just a tad bizarre.

I know!  WHY is the stick necessary?!  Makes me think of a corn dog or something.  Somehow the stick just adds to the whole absurdity of the meal.

So, who has the vegan recipe for this one?

Yeah, my thoughts exactly.  Fried Earth Balance balls, anyone?

OMG! :D I love watching Paula Deen because it is so hilarious! Truthfully, she seems like a really nice lady, but I really can't believe she has not had a heart attack!

THIS is my favorite recipe ever (to look & be shocked about; not to eat, of course :P):
http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,,FOOD_9936_27413,00.html <--Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding

;D

The best part is that while Paula was making it, she kept saying, "Now y'all, I know this looks bad for ya, but remember that there is no extra fat or sugar added to the recipe, other than what's already in the Krispy Kremes."

Um... What about the sweetened condensed milk? Or the stick of butter in the rum sauce?! Or the fruit cocktail? Or the POUND of powdered sugar? Or... :-X

I remember reading the reviews for this recipe out of sheer curiosity (it has 5/5 stars right now; I wonder why Americans are so fat? :o), and mixed in with all these glowing reviews, some wise person wrote, "This looks like diabetes in a Pyrex." 8)

Truer words were never spoken.

One of my favorite Paula quotes:
"I never used to like avocados.  But then I found out they were full o' fat, so of course I love 'em now!"
She just makes me giggle.

holy lord look at that recipe!!

i like how it calls for 2 dozen donuts and then lists the whole recipe as 12 servings..  so eacher person gets 2 donuts worth plus all the extra sweetened condensed milk, butter & powdered suger.  again:  holy lord!

LOL! I freakin' know it! ;D I have a major sweet tooth, but looking at this recipe makes my teeth & stomach hurt! ;) Yuuuuuck. I don't understand how anyone could enjoy THAT much sugar at once... Especially for breakfast! (On the episode, Paula suggested serving this recipe for a delicious brunch meal... Uh, no thanks.) Way to start your day off right... ???

It should be called "How to make donuts even LESS healthy"... which shouldn't be possible...

but wait - it does contain 2 cans of delicious high-quality fruit cocktail.. so that makes it ok for breakfast i'm pretty sure.  thing is though - if this was made up vegan style i'm pretty sure i'd have to try a piece.. definitely not a 2-donuts sized piece..but just a bite for curiositys sake..

Ugh. What an arse. Rachael cooks with veal ALL THE TIME! She recently had a "30 Minute Meals" episode dedicated to a romantic date meal, and she kept referring to her veal cutlets as "sexy, savory veal." Yeah, baby cows confined to tiny crates for their short, lonely, miserable lives really turns me on! Mmmmm... Veal is so sexy! :-\

I am really intrigued by the thought of cranberry sauce fritters.  I may have to try that, actually.

They are vegan, unless canned cranberry sauce has gelatin in it or some other weirdness!

But what would you do with them?
I told my classmates aboutthe butter balls today, and none of us could figure out what you do with those either.  Do you dip them in ranch?  Put them on top of something so that when they burst the butter drips down?  What purpose do those things serve?  It boggles the mind I say.

They'd be like jelly donuts, kind of.  Just easier to prepare, and with cranberry sauce.  I should make some really thick cranberry sauce and try this.  I don't eat the canned stuff.  Ick.

And I really have no idea why anyone would want the butter balls.

:o And I thought that fried twinkies could never be topped...

ETA this recipe and the Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding remind me of the episode of The Boondocks where Granddad opened the soulfood restaurant and served a burger called The Luther, which was a pound of beef, bacon, and cheese, and served between two Krispy Kreme donuts for a bun.

Granddad: "It was supposedly invented by Mr. Luther Vandross himself!"
Huey: "Luther Vandross is dead!"
Granddad: "Yeah? What's your point?"
