Always Updated Art Sharing Thread

** Artists (and art appreciators) of VegWeb! **

Let's make this a continually-updated art-sharing space.

The goal of this thread is to encourage artists (or just, Y'know, casual art-makers) to create on at least a WEEKLY basis, and to share the work with other VegWebbers for critique, praise, and whathaveYou. You can post Your stuff with a disclaimer like "critique not desired" if You don't want any comments on it, or You can specifically ask for advice from others on how the work can be improved.

But most of all, I'd just love to see what We all come up with each week!

Consider this an "open-house" style gallery space: You can come and go as You please, share Your work as often or as little as You want, but there will always be something new to see/discuss at least every week....hopefully more. :)

I'm thinking this sould just be a free-for-all in which anybody is free to post whatever s/he desires at her/his leisure, leaving the possibility of discussion open at all times.....

In addition, though, We could also have weekly "assignments", for anyone who wants to participate..? Something with a common theme... the Style and Medium are up to the individual, and there's no limit to the number of entries You can post.
...and everyone should submit her/his work by, say, next Friday... not so much as a "deadline," but rather to set a time in which discussion/critique may be opened up for everyone to talk about what's been submitted. Late entries are always welcome, of course.   ;)b

But again, I want people to feel free to post anytime at all. Have fun!!

So, I've never really sewn in my life, but I checked out a book from the library about altering T-shirts, and now I'm hooked! I spent all afternoon altering shirts. I have 4 done, but WAY more that I plan to do soon! It's so much fun! I don't have a sewing machine, but now I want one!

Nice work, L2A! You sewed them all by hand? Must have taken forever!

IT took me 4 hours to do all four. Not too bad! But yes, I'm wanting a machine now. :)

:) I might be in the market for a new machine myself soon. I have a cheap little janome machine that I mainly just bought because it is mint green, but it keeps seizing up on me all the time. My mom has an older singer, but she claims it has problems too. We should go sewing machine shopping together. hehe

my husband's huge U2 Rattle and Hum shirt. Size XXL!

this is seriously addicting. I am a TOTAL pack rat when it comes to t shirts. if it has any sentimental value, I keep it. Even when DH tries to get rid of shirts! Now I can make them wearable and not just taking up space in my drawer.  ^-^

this did not photograph well, but it's a t shirt sewn into the back of a hoodie and it says "all we are saying is give peas a chance" and there's pics of animals on a plate, and silverware next to it. it was a big ugly white t shirt that i never wore!

meet Audrette and Manuel. They are in love.

girl you have too much talent for one person!  They're amazing!

L2A, what was the book you got the t-shirt altering ideas from called?  I have a few at home I'd be keen to funk up, also have little-to-no sewing skills and no sewing machine.... : /

Thanks l2a and algae!

I do sell my plushies, but my etsy shop isn't officially set up yet. My name is clovermint on there. I'm waiting to get a bunch of items made and photographed before I start posting things for sale on there, but in the mean time If someone has a custom order in mind I would be more than willing to take it.

Could you make you and I? Maybe my bead and hair could be removable?

I am just working on these dumb endless black chrome cubes for burberry. Endless I tell you.

I have never made myself in doll form before, it would be quite an experience. I'll have to find some fabric thats similar to my hair color. or maybe just make it blue or purple or some radical colour. a challenge oh my, i'll take it!

thanks sog! I mainly draw or do pastels. Have a couple of watercolours that were kind of experiments that turned out better than I expected. I take alot of photos too but have only printed a couple. Also just started getting into comic-type drawings...thinking of starting a comic about the antics of my bunny  ;D

I got a beginner-level Husqvarna last year, and I love that thing. They cost a little more, but coming from a family who use Husqvarnas, I know they last!
