Always Updated Art Sharing Thread

** Artists (and art appreciators) of VegWeb! **

Let's make this a continually-updated art-sharing space.

The goal of this thread is to encourage artists (or just, Y'know, casual art-makers) to create on at least a WEEKLY basis, and to share the work with other VegWebbers for critique, praise, and whathaveYou. You can post Your stuff with a disclaimer like "critique not desired" if You don't want any comments on it, or You can specifically ask for advice from others on how the work can be improved.

But most of all, I'd just love to see what We all come up with each week!

Consider this an "open-house" style gallery space: You can come and go as You please, share Your work as often or as little as You want, but there will always be something new to see/discuss at least every week....hopefully more. :)

I'm thinking this sould just be a free-for-all in which anybody is free to post whatever s/he desires at her/his leisure, leaving the possibility of discussion open at all times.....

In addition, though, We could also have weekly "assignments", for anyone who wants to participate..? Something with a common theme... the Style and Medium are up to the individual, and there's no limit to the number of entries You can post.
...and everyone should submit her/his work by, say, next Friday... not so much as a "deadline," but rather to set a time in which discussion/critique may be opened up for everyone to talk about what's been submitted. Late entries are always welcome, of course.   ;)b

But again, I want people to feel free to post anytime at all. Have fun!!

This is the start of my winter project, i will add more pics as i get further, it is starting to "grow" onto the celing. I don't think i will ever complete this project, as it will just be something i can keep adding to as i feel fit. there will be fun grass/plants/maybe animals all around too. I didn't like my bare walls, and couldn't find any local art that i enjoyed enough.(please excuse the munchkin and the mess in the photos :) )

Nice!  Is that ice on a window?

We had an ice storm/freezing rain the other night. I took a pic of the street lamp thru some ice-covered tree branches and  added some effects. I'm happy with how it turned out.

hey, thanks for sharing the sweet photos, Josh! I especially like the shot of the light through icy branches.

....good to see someone updating this "weekly updated" thread...since the OP is a slacker.  ;D

Thank you, Ms. carrot_wench! I'm not a pro or anything. I just keep my eyes open for things that appeal to me. You should probably harass the OP until she starts posting again. :P  I hear she's getting married or something..... -josh

OMG SOG! I love those. Especially the first one.
You could totally be a book illustrator...for kids books or something. It reminds me of a classic kids book but I can't think which one. I will post when I figure it out!

thanks l2a! I would love to be a children's book illustrator someday. I've talked among friends about doing little projects like they write the story/I illustrate/sew it. It's a matter of putting things into motion :p

while I'm in the art thread, I'll drop this bit of shameless self promotion...

it might be the illustrator of the children's book, "corduroy" that your drawings remind me of....

Wow, sog, those are really good!
I love Your stroke weight variation...it's especially effective in that second one (the hands), which might otherwise be a simple life drawing study, but is now just freaking beautiful.
And that first one, obviously, freaking rocks.
