Man, you've submitted some fantastic pictures! Are you a bake-a-holic? Whenever I come on here, there's nearly always something by your good self. I just wanted to give you some props! Keep on keeping on!
:-* K
Thanks so much!!!!
I am sort of a bake-o-holic! I only go to highschool for 2 hours each day, so I haveto find something to keep me busy (inbetween all the other crap i do, of course).....
Baklng and cooking are just so much fun and theraputic. It's really nice to mix a bunch of stuff in a bowl, cook it, and watch it transform into something beautiful.
Give props to Greentomato, her picture of her "rasberry chocolate linzer tart" is what inspired me to take better pictures.

Just looked it up and it is a gorgeous picture by Greentomato! I can see why you felt inspired ... I always love to see a good recipe pic - gives me something to aim for, without a pic I feel like I'm guessing what it should turn out like!
On a side note, I don't think I've seen "Greentomato" much, come back and post some more food pics!
I was thinking about starting a thread to compliment your pictures too! I saw your pb cookie picture yesterday. It's beautiful! I love what you did with the heart cutouts. Very creative.
And I love that you put that little stuffed animal (hedgehog?) in the other pic! You mind if I include one of mine in my next picture?
lol, yeah, that stuffed animal thing is a hedgehog. By all means go ahead and include one in your pictures Apstaats! Thanks for the kudos! :D
That's so funny. I was thinking the same thing, especially after the heart peanut butter cookies. What I really want to know is, on your shortbread cookie recipe http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=13870 what is the chocolate-looking substance you seem to have dipped the cookie in? :)
I've got to compliement you too, Ashley! In the past I didn't really bake much but your beautiful pictures have inspired me! I recently made some chocolate chip cooks and a cake. My next baking adventure will definitely be some muffins. Yum! Keep those pictures coming, I love them!

That would be so great! I want to work there too. :)
Jeez, thanks everyone ;D
BTW, the shortbread cookie I'm eating in the photo is dipped in melted chocolate, and then cooled on wax paper in the fridge. I use this "allergen" free brand chocolate from Meijer that is vegan. It's really good and cheap!
Here's a crappy picture of them....
Boy Ashley, your stuff looks so good! I wish I had baked stuff recipes on here so you'd photograph them.
You certainly have a flare for this!
AshleyKimball, so how come you don't have a weight problem? You make and bake some serious sweets! :D They aren't just beautifully photographed; they look beautifully made.
she's too young to have a weight problem. give her a few more years :P
Or, like me, she has several siblings who devour her baking the minute it's cool enough, and the baker is lucky to get even a taste!
That's one of the reasons I quit baking for 25 yrs (and I was known for light piecrust!): I no longer had a bunch of people to eat the produce and I didn't want to get as big as a sofa!
YEP, im guilty too. I have batches of those P butter cookies in the oven right now thanks to those funky pics with the hearts! ha ha ha.
GO ASHLEY. :D
It's official. AshleyKimball is a baking genius. I made some Applesauce Spice Muffins http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=14542.0 last weekend and they were tasty, but a little flat (maybe because I used whole wheat flour?). I put some leftover batter in the fridge, which I used this morning. I was afraid they'd rise even less after the batter sat for a week, so I tried Ashley's tip from The Rules of Baking http://vegweb.com/index.php?topic=14809.0 and preheated the oven at a higher temp. then turned it down. The muffins were about twice as high as the last time. Go Ashley!
