i just did something dumb

so i went to put the office mail through the mail chute and one envelope was a teeny bit too big so i sort of folded it a little bit to get it through and now it's stuck in the (clear) chute. i've already tried knocking it down with other mail, which just made it stuck further down. i also tried a coat hanger (still further down, still stuck). next i might try attaching something to the end of the coathanger and knocking it (at least out of sight) that way.
it's not a terribly important piece of mail. but i don't want anyone to know about this at my office.
i fail at mailing things.

Sounds like that darn chute needs a "ball-peen adjustment." I've had the same problem myself. I felt like sticking the vaccuum hose down there and getting it back!

well, attaching something to the end of the coat hanger did not work. so i told the accountant at the office and we attached 2 coat hangers together, but she put it in too quick without really attaching it and it got stuck for awhile. my friend, who is the doorman in our building, got it out. he got some keys for the chute, but they wouldn't work. he's on a mission to find something else to make it work.

yeah my friend ended up putting a piece of siding down the chute and it nudged it down into the mailbox.
i couldn't help because i was getting 'reviewed' by my boss, which i will explain under a thread titled 'my life sucks.'
That sounds like something I would do, LOL! Have you tried a broom handle? Good luck!
