Japan tsunami

The coverage of the earthquake, tsunami that hit Japan is terrifying. I haven't been able to reach my brother and family in Japan. Please keep them, all suffering from the quake, in your warm thoughts and prayers.
I just found out my cousin who is there is okay, he's in Okinawa.
I'm keeping everyone over there in my thoughts.
I'm lost for words.
I feel more angry than anything right now. Mother Nature, give us all a fucking break. :(
I don't know anyone in Japan, but I wish the best for the country.
Google's homepage says the tsunami could hit NZ, Hawaii, Papua New Guinea and the Phillipines.
I pray not.

The whole west coast of North and South America is on watch and tsunami waves have hit Hawaii already but it's not expected to be really bad. Hawaii was also hit by a smaller earthquake. They're not sure if the cooling systems in the nuclear power plants have worked correctly so there's been emergency warnings and evacuations near the plants.

i hope everyone finds their loved ones ok and in good health. The westcoast of the states here is only supposed to get 2 - 4 foot waves, so we will all be fine.

Yes, my brother said he felt the earthquake. He, my baby niece and in-laws are safe. Lots of aftershocks, and tsunami wave watch along California coasts so I continue to read reports.
The 8.9 earthquake, the largest recorded in Japan's history, unleashed a ferocious tsunami that slammed the coast and swallowed cars, homes and boats, kiilling hundreds of people.

I don't have TV reception, so I haven't seen the coverage. I just looked through a Yahoo collection of photos and I'm in shock. The immediate time after the earthquake is only the beginning of the problems. Industries are gone, which means jobs are gone. Sewer and water conveyances are broken. Homes are gone. The nuclear plant isn't yet stabilized. It's overwhelming.

More than 3,000 people have been rescued and the death toll is feared to top 1,600, according to Kyodo News reports.
Today's local newspapers showed some heartbreaking photographs of a member of Japan's military services carrying an elderly man through the rubble. Another of a woman in a quilted coat holding a child close as they sleep on the floor of a Tokyo shelter.
It's tragic that it sometimes takes events like the devastating Japan earthquake to shake us from the relative calm in our lives, to give thanks for our loving family and friends. For the food on the table. The roof over our heads. And confront our own mortality.

Praying for all those affected by the earthquake and tsunami. I hope all of you who have family and friends over there have heard from everyone and that they are all safe. Our niece is stationed over there and I also have friends there, but thankfully they are all safe. The devastation has been terrifying to see. Hope everyone comes together to help those in need. If you are in the L.A. area today, here's one more way to help the Japan earthquake victims. Drive-thru fundraiser happening now through 7 p.m. tonight at Dodger Stadium. NBC TV crew broadcasting it live and plan to make an announcement later today of a big donation.

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES - If you want to help victims of the magnitude 9.0 earthquake and tsunami in Japan, take a drive to Dodger Stadium today by 7 p.m., or have a meal at Takami Sushi & Robata Restaurant.
The team, along with NBC LA, will hold a “drive through” relief effort to raise money for the Red Cross disaster relief efforts.
Dodger alumni Bobby Castillo, Kenny Landreaux, Rudy Law, Al Ferrara, Jimmy Campanis and Derrel Thomas will be there to take donations. Those who give $20 or more will get two tickets to an upcoming spring training exhibition game at Dodger Stadium.
Checks and cash will be accepted and can be dropped off at parking lot 1, which is left of Gate A, during the March 15 fundraiser.
Meanwhile, Takami Sushi & Robata Restaurant at 811 Wilshire Blvd. will be donating all of its profits to the Red Cross Japanese Relief Fund during the lunch and dinner service. Just mention Red Cross when making a reservation. The restaurant’s donation is ongoing. Perfect, I like those text to donate things, it makes it easy for everyone to gve a little and not feel overwhemed. My bank ATM had a new feature today to donate to the Red Cross on it, I thought that was a good, quick, easy and affordable option too.
