Need some emotional support

Hey, so I just recently got out of a terrible food service job and told myself I would never work in a restaurant again.  And...I just finished filling out an application for Pizza Hut.  :'(  The thing is that I really need a job and all the ones at the school I attend are already filled.  So I just need some support and encouragement.

Thanks

Just remember that the job does NOT define the person. I think most of us have had to do a job we don't agree with necessarily. I know I have. Just use it as an opportunity to spread the word about veganism-I'm sure most of the the people working there will not be too familiar with its benefits.

welcome to my life. except i like food service, just not most of the food.

you'll be fine :) just be happy to have a job when you get one, since many people are currently jobless.

Think about it this way too.. having a job that you might not exactly enjoy 100% will at least allow you to not have to be concerned (too much) about money while you can continue the hunt for a job that you will truly enjoy :) You're not selling your life to pizza hut indefinitely, things change ;)b

Likewise, you can always continue to look for a better position, and stay employed in the meantime.  A word of caution, don't job hop too much, a stay of a year of less looks less than good on a resume, and after a few quick hops it can make a person less desirable, even if you have qualified skills, because they can see you as not able to "stick".  We see this in retail a lot, so I understand, and yes, moving on can be a very good thing when a better offer comes a long.

thanks guys.  i feel a lot better about the whole situation now, it was just a shock to my system at first.  and i suppose i am getting a little worked up over nothing, since it was just an application and not for sure a job.

<3's to everyone - i really appreciate the support  :-)

it won't last forever. I promise.  I worked at a daycare job I HATED for almost a year.  Now I work for a crazy little Thai woman who gives me free Thai food all the time ~^_^~ Life is unexpected, and rarely ever the same twice.
