The official, amazing, aimless chitchat thread.

So this is where we go to make small talk that doesn't really fit into other threads.
It's the thread with no attention span!

Frequent, arbitrary changes of topic are encouraged.  In fact, they are mandatory.

So, I was just thinking, wouldn't it be awesome to have the decor in each room of your house be inspired by a food?  Like, I was cutting up eggplant today, making my accidental eggplant chips, and I though, wow, this eggplant looks so pretty against this green plate!  I would love to  have a room inspired entirely by eggplant colors.  And then I thought there could be ones inspired by mangoes and apples and sweet potatoes and pretty much any other pretty food.

Hey, a friend of mine made these really awesome mosaics of all her food pictures based on color.  THIS is what I mean:

So, what was I saying?

Don't laugh yet, apparently I can whoop bp.  ;D

The Diva Club thread has 101 pages..... :wow:

Blessed be!

I wonder how many males secretly read the Diva thread.  I remember wormywyrm joining in the discussion.  But he doesn't post anymore.  :'(  I wonder if he knows the forums are back.  He was nice.

I went there once because I wasn't quite sure what it was about. (I'm learning that some doors are not meant to be opened.) ...I'm not saying I found the topic gross or distasteful, it was just truly a girls club and I had neither anything to contribute nor a particular interest. I do think the product that lets a girl pee standing up is a fun topic though  :>

I went over my parents for dinner last night. My mom just wanted chinese food, so I had general taos tofu & it was actually really good (usually they get takeout from a crap place, apperantly they found a better place). plus I brought over VCTOTW coconut lime cupcakes, which were killer! My husband, dad, & sister were fighting over the leftovers! I highly recommend them, just make half the frosting though

I had coconut lime cupcakes last night too!!!  I don't think they were from vctotw though.  My visiting friend brought them from her hfs in richmond.  They were really awesome!

Aimless chit chat... so I'm volunteering at a conference, their lentil soup at lunch had meat broth, I cried on the inside because I was told it was good, I'm tired and achy, but I'm getting Eat Drink and Be Vegan and Everyday Vegan from Dreena burton herself!!! I emailed her directly, and she'll be sending me the books soon.

I asked my sister what book she'd want (because I'm going to give it to her for our birthday) and she asked for Everyday Vegan -  not a surprise gift, but at least I know I got it right. Woo hoo for Dreena Burton and free vegan cookbooks!!!!

Woo hoo for aimless chit chat...

any other heavy sleepers?

me, me, me!  i go to another universe, i swear.  i don't ever know what's going on, and it's bad if i fall asleep on the sofa - i can't be woken up or moved or anything.  my ex-boyfriend used to "wake" me up to get me to go to bed, and he'd actually get me talking and (sort of) walking - i'd never remember anything!  the talking thing was crazy, though - he'd tell me i'd say something really weird and nonsensical, and then he'd try to pursue the "conversation," but apparently i never made any sense, just would spew out a bunch of randomness.  he tested my "talking" several times over the years we lived together, and i'd never a single memory of any of it.  would more likely wake up the next morning wondering when/how i got into bed.  my sister won't even wake me up because she says i'm mean when i'm out like that.  of course, i remember nothing!!!!

on another aimless note, i am completely unthrilled to learn Middle English for my Chaucer course and thus am deviating on the most deviant of vegweb's distractions.  aimless.  chitchat.

ps no offense you medieval lovers.

I noticed that a couple ladies had a crush on Howard Roark...I'm interested to talk to some fellow Ayn Rand fans. Have you all read Atlas Shrugged? I assume not...or you'd have a crush on John Galt...or maybe Fransisco..or maybe Hank Rearden. Talk to me!!!

I read Ayn Rand in high school, about 20 years ago.  I don't remember all of the characters, or even the plot from Atlas Shrugged.  All I remember is that I had a crush, big time, on Howard Roark.

The Fountainhead is my favorite book although I wouldn't say I had a crush on Howard Roark.  I never read Atlas Shrugged.  I've always been afraid to read it because I feel like it couldn't possibly compare to Fountainhead and then I would be disappointed.  Stupid reason, I know.

I read The Fountainhead a few years ago...and I don't recall having a crush on him. I might have though. I have a crush on Ayn Rand books.

Ooooooh, read it!! I think it's better! It took me a few years to get into it and read it all (I started it a few years ago..but stopped). After I got past the beginning, it just got better and better. I did just read that it has 645,000 words..but it really didn't even take me that long, and I mainly just read it at night before bed. It's so thought provoking, and consuming, and sexy! Gogogogo!

kinda rolling with this topic...if you accidentally consume meat, do you make yourself throw up? Or do you drink a ton of water and hope you won't have diarrhea for days??
