We have open letters, but there are times it's more of a "note to self" scenario. So I thought I'd give us a place to put them.

I'll start!

Note to Self:
Baking Powder and Baking Soda are not interchangeable. That is why there are 2--because they're completely different things. You actually know this. So why are you so surprised when your baking flops?  ???

What. Oreos are a vital part of a balanced diet. See here:

wheat flour: GRAIN
palm oil: VEGETABLE
cocoa: LEGUME
sugar: ALSO VEGETABLE
vanilla: LEGUME

And now they've got peppermint oreos for Christmas. I'm pretty sure that adds a third vegetable.

eta: i just remembered that palm oil is actually 'palm fruit oil,' so it's not a vegetable, it's a fruit. OREOS ARE A COMPLETE FOOD.

Note to self: STOP using the phrase "I owe you one" to Spanish people. They take it seriously and think that you do indeed owe them a favour. And they will hold you to it.

Note to self: It's okay to make mistakes, it's how we learn. Do not force yourself to eat it, it's horrible. Toss it. Seriously, the ingredients cost next to nothing. Better to toss it than choke it down and put on weight.

Note to self: You know you can't help a person who doesn't want to be helped, even if they say they do.
You can't give advice to a person either when what they want is to hear their own thoughts in your words.
Remember this.
Why would you want to hang onto a "friendship" that is based on constant validation of what you recognise to be disastrous decisions and destructive philosophies of life?
Let go. This "friendship" is taking up valuable space and energy, and your contribution is not appreciated.

Note to Self: Please to remember your relative unimportance to the rest of the world, which is not panting to know what you think and feel every moment of the day.
This can actually be very freeing if you embrace it.

NTS: Do not eat a huuuge chunk of watermelon just before sitting down to watch a movie, unless you really enjoy running back and forth to pee every few minutes.

NTS: Read the instructions, don't just do what you think you remember, particularly when you have the instructions right there on the package. A sauce isn't a sauce without some kind of liquid.
