Open letters
Seeing as we've got confessions and problems and issues springing up in threads all over the shop, I thought it might be interesting to have an open letter thread. Cathartic, perhaps. From your mother ruining your wedding, to your boyfriend who can't stop peeing on the toilet seat, or even that guy on the bus who kept making that annoying noise with his mouth, get it out here.
I'll get the ball rolling.
To my dear darling boyfriend,
Just because you are technically 'clean' when you come out the shower, it doesn't mean that I am okay with using the same towel you've been rubbing all over yourself for a month. I know you have others. I bought you two myself. Drag them out from the murky depths of the laundry basket, wash them and allow me the temporary use of a clean one.

Dear Mrs. McE.,
Did you ever actually want to have children? I ask this because you act like you despise your son. And from what he's told me, you always did imply that he was no good, right from when he was a kid. It didn't help that his father died when he was seven, and he had nobody from then on to teach him to be manly macho strong. He's ended up as a much more sentitive than usual kinda guy... no thanks to you. I believe he will always have trouble believing in himself.
Why does it have to take someone outside of the family to see and applaud the good in someone? I love him so much, and you just seem to want to put him down and drive him away.
I am not usually outspoken - it takes a lot for me to speak out, back someone up, or stand up for a friend when they're being bullied. But I swear, if you bully my lover again when I am in your company, I WILL say something. It's about bloody time I did.

Bach is definitely The Daddy, along with Handel.
It cracked my husband up major bigtime when I told him that Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor is known in the States as "The Dracula Leitmotif." No one, but no one in Europe just automatically associates it with him. Here it's "church music."

Hahahaha! Ah yes..Toccata and Fugue in D Minor and the connection to horror fans. :) If I remember correctly, the organist that evening refused to play that one because of the fact that everyone knew it. He wanted to educate the public on other Toccatas.
