Reasons to frown

Ok, so we have a smiling thread.  This thread is for all of the little dumb things that make you frown, or angry, or sad, etc., etc.

I'll start.  I had chili for lunch today.  I brought some crackers for the chili and a banana for breakfast.  THE CRACKERS ABSORBED THE BANANA FLAVOR THROUGH THE BAG, SO I HAD BANANA FLAVORED CHILI FOR LUNCH! >:(

I was just given a "project" to work on that is pointless and will probably never be used.  And I'm about to waste hundreds of pieces of paper.  Absolutely ridiculous.

Isn't it amazing how the banana essence permeates everything!  I never pack bananas in my lunch bag cuz then everything smells.

Seriously!  I have learned a valuable lesson today.  I love bananas, but I hate banana flavored things, so the banana will now be seperated.

I'm cleaning out our apartment (for reasons that will be explained at a later time), and I just threw about 40,987 notecards into recycling. I kept all my notecards that I made for college/grad. school (which I always used..stupidly), and I just cleaned them out. They filled up a whole large sized paper bag. Sad!

Also, I'm sick. It's not too much to frown about, though...yet.

I'm still frowning about losing this new sticker I had, but I hope to find it.

My (former) roommate called me last night (already an hour out of town), to tell me he's moving back to Texas, refused to pay this month's rent, OR drive back to return the key he forgot to leave....said he'd mail it to me.

Now, I'm scrambling to make this month's rent, I've called 7 agencies that offer emergency rent/utility aid, on hold for the 8th. One's # was disconnected. All the others have NO funds 'till next month at the earliest, due to a federal hiccup. After this one, I have 2 more to call....Hopefully one of them will have good news.

I am out of my sick cat's prescription food. Need cat litter. Less than half a tank of gas.

I have the # for the Humane Society, they should be able to point me in the right direction for help with kitty expenses.

My roommate that isn't Sean cooked ground beef in my big nonstick skillet last night. Not a huge problem really since I didn't have to wash it. Huge problem was that he used a FORK TO SCRAPE THE STUFF AROUND. ONE DOES NOT USE METAL UTENSILS WITH NONSTICK COOKWARE.

egh.

I'm applying for jobs at the moment and got a letter last night rejecting my application before the interview stage for a job that included tasks such as photocopying in the position description.  I went to university for six years and have fantastic job history.
I went through this eight months ago when we got home from Europe, thinking that by now the economy would be less shit and I'd have an easier time finding a job I actually liked.  Guess not.

Ha! In my time here in MT, I've received probably about ...15+? interview rejection note cards from the University for admin. assoc. positions. Positions with requirements such as "an understanding of written and spoken English, an understanding of standard office supplies, ability to communicate," etc. P probably received about 5 rejections of his own. I had ONE interview for one of those positions, didn't get the job, asked for feedback, and he told me I "wasn't prepared for the interview." :wow:

eta: and by this, I mean..I hear ya.  :-*

With all of your education and experience, they may think you will want too much money - and that they can find someone less qualified than you that will work for a lot less.....when I used to hire the receptionists at my old job, thats what I did....I would always feel stupid interviewing and making an $8/hr offer to a well educated, overqualified person.....

Well, there's a reason I/people are applying...to get the job!
I guess it's just hard to get a job at the University b/c of the ok pay, benefits, tuition waver, and other stuff. Meh.

oh yeah, I get that and am well aware that I am by no means alone in this crappy situation.  It's just my own reason for frowning today.
When I was applying for jobs in January/February, I was averaging 12 applications a day and it took me a month to get a job, which, in the end, wasn't from any of those applications, but through a connection my dad had.  Buuut it was only a fixed term contract, which now has only 30 days left to run, and we're trying to buy a house/get a mortgage, and I seriously will not be able to be unemployed once that happens.

I wish you guys could come work here with me instead of the crazies who work here now.....

I just pulled a hair out of my head and it hurts really bad.  Weird.  Deeply rooted.

I would totally help you count paperclips.  And help customers, of course, but counting the paperclips is the most important job to accomplish.

I'm sick with a mystery "virus"
I'm out of hospital now but I feel like my entire abdomen is being stabbed all over, I feel incredibly nauseous and dizzy, I can't eat anything, and the doctor just sent me for more blood tests on top of the beautiful purple blood test bruises from yesterday.

DIE, VIRUS.

i hate my job so much. today i almost cried, cussed out my boss, and walked out (quit) without intention of coming back. it was only my better sense (that was telling me i don't have another job) that kept me there.
