Reasons to frown

Ok, so we have a smiling thread.  This thread is for all of the little dumb things that make you frown, or angry, or sad, etc., etc.

I'll start.  I had chili for lunch today.  I brought some crackers for the chili and a banana for breakfast.  THE CRACKERS ABSORBED THE BANANA FLAVOR THROUGH THE BAG, SO I HAD BANANA FLAVORED CHILI FOR LUNCH! >:(

I just realized that I forgot to do the contrasting eye stitching on 5 things I literally just got home from sending out. FKLHDlskes

sick again. boo!

Aww that stinks. Hope you feel better soon. I have been sick with a sinus infection for over a week now :(

I'll join you guys in your misery.  I just developed a head cold a few days ago.  My partner had it last week, my supervisor had it, everyone in all the cubicles around me at work had it, I guess it's inevitible (I can never spell that word right).  I think my immunity is down due to the stress of school finals this week.  However, I just Aced my Medical terminology final and course so I am at least happy about that!  I had a stomach virus at the start of this semester.  This is my first completed semester of college in 17 years.  I'm gonna have to learn to calm down if I am going to make it through the rest of school this time.  Geesh.

Hope you guys feel better soon!

Go NB for your medical terms test! that's pretty cool.
I think I had a 24-hour flu type of deal happening on Monday, but I was sick for several weeks right before so I was just like oh come ON! I'm better now, but I'm still pretty stressed out about christmas and a speech I have to give tomorrow (and have just started writing..)

dang. I hate being too busy/too depressed to go on VW regularly. There's so much stuff to catch up on, threads I've been meaning to reply to, blahblahblah.

Muskabar died on Sunday and now there are no ratties in Our barn. Goddammit, it hurts.

I'm sorry on both counts, dear VBS. I miss you and I'm sorry you miss your ratties. <3 :bear2: (bear hugs)

CW, sorry about your loss.

I can not help but wonder at times what we are thinking when we bring rats home as pets.  They have such short lives and we know it going into having them.  The last several I had were retired school pets and from the humane society so they were not babies to begin with.  DH joked that we needed a sign outside our front door labling our house as a "home for geriatric rats".  we have not had any for a while now because we would not trust our one cat to leave them alone.  I do miss them.

Semiveg, I feel the same way about parents who get hamsters for their kids. First, a lot of cage-bred hamsters can be aggressive. Plus, the ones here in Spain live a maximum of 2 years, usually less, and before the end they develop tumors etc. which is very upsetting for the child. My beloved Saul's vet was the only one I ever met here that wouldn't do all the expensive tests and "treatments" just to make money. He would actually tell parents the score, and tell the child in a gentle way...and suggest they try another pet.

I just met a hamster the other day.  S/he took a dump on me, and then walked away.

they tend to do that.

Concider yourself lucky!  I have met more hamsters who tried to take a chunk out of me than ones who have not.  Usually, I am pretty good with animals, only hamsters seem to have it out for me.

for those of you who care and who aren't friends with me on facebook.....we unfortunately had to have Gary put to sleep last night.

I had posted some details about her down turn on the pet thread but that's now been deleted.  I will cry to much to post more here, but thought some of you may be vaguely interested.
