Is there another vegweb site somewhere?
All the posts in the forums are so old. Where did everyone go? Is there another site somewhere? The Beta site--whatever that is? There were a bunch of very regular users that haven't posted in ages and I am wondering where they are.
Are they in the cyber equivalent of luxury skyboxes while I'm sitting in the bleachers?
I'm still here because I never give up anything I like. Crises come, and crises go but preemies are tough.
I think vegweb is nice.
But I think the new structure is so in your face kind of thing. The pics are very large and the wording to.
And everything must be easier to find.
Still though Vegweb rules!
Hi startaurus! We're making lots of changes recently to make VegWeb more of everything that everyone loves! We are a small but dedicated team who inherited a site that had lots of hidden issues, but we have a dynamite team working on it now, and we love our community, and our delicious recipes, and we think we're still pretty much the best place to live on the internet :)
Please let me know if you have any other specific suggestions, we are here to help!! Enjoy VegWeb!
I still lurk every now and then. I miss it here. For me I don't post much anymore because of time. I used to have a pretty coshy job where I didn't have much to do, so I spent a large part of the day here. I also used to be vegetarian.
I hate to admit that I eat meat again
I loved beign vegan though, but as a Single mother to a 4 year old son, with like no time to spare and having been raised on a meat and potatos diet, my son hates beans, the only vegetarian sources of protein he will eat are tofu and Boca burgers. So I serve some ground turkey dishes, turkey meatballs, chicken stirfrys to get him to eat more variety. I do NOT buy pork though, and only rarely eat beef. My son doesn't like beef or pork so that is good. We don't really eat fish either.
I would love to be vegan again, but maybe I could get help on this.
I need a variety of things I can make, quickly in like 20 minutes or less, using either noodles, or brown rice and tofu, or Boca nuggets. If I knew more to make other than just tofu stirfry that is quick with tofu, then maybe we could go back to our vegan diet?
I also am trying to not eat any sugar, white flour or white rice for me because I am trying to loose weight. So I make a LOT of stir frys, but they get old. Chicken stirfrys, tofu stir frys, with veggies and either brown rice or whole wheat noodles. What else can I make with tofu thas is super quick? My son likes tofu as cubes, he won't eat "scrambled" tofu.
I still poke in from time to time. I have been posting again as of late. I spend more time on another vegan forum but most of my time is spent between work and school. I am still going strong and happy as a vegan, one year + eight months in and loving it. I would like to see this forum get more active again like the old days. There are so many newcomers here who need help. We can really make a difference here. Vegweb is promising in that it draws people in with the vast recipe database. It was a lifeline for me in my first year.
I do find it frustrating with this new site that each time I log in it takes me forever to figure out how to get back to the community forums. I can't seem to get out of my account. I am frustrated with trying to figure out how to work this forum. The old one was much easier, but I do like the format of the recipes.
I miss all you guys but glad to see some familiar faces!
Please fix the member search feature. It is irritating as hell to try to find someone now.
@mirrya1 the programmers are working on it, thanks for letting us know! you can always use google until it's ready (hopefully within a week) -- just google the person you're looking for and "vegweb" -- hope that helps, and sorry for the inconvenience!
