Time to adopt a turkey!

For the past 3 years around Thanksgiving, I have sponsored a turkey (or several!) from Farm Sanctuary. I just adopted 3 for this year--one for myself & my boyfriend, one for my parents, and one for my bro & his girlfriend--all of whom have agreed to have a vegan Thanksgiving with me this year! :D :)>>>

I absolutely love this program, and it's a fun way to incorporate living turkeys into your Thanksgiving celebration! I know someone posted about this last year, so I wanted to remind you all again!

Adopt-a-Turkey!

Oh, I'm going to do this!! Thank you for posting the link!

I am here in PA and have 10 acres.
Turkeys are all over the place here. I make sure they are protected so no one hunts them. Neighbors are doing the same thing.
Turkeys are very playful and very noisy in the morning.
At last count I had 18 Turkeys that visit every day.
Maybe for the real protest we should sit in front of supermarkets with live
turkeys with a sign that says would you eat me?
If I can figure out how to tame one enough I will do it.

Oops! I fixed my link. It should work now!

I picked Serendipity, Faye, and Phoenix. It was hard to choose, but the money actually goes toward the sanctuary in general, so all these cuties will benefit. :) I love the quotes beneath each picture!

This is such an awesome idea.  I'm going to do it and adopt one for my family who, unfortunately, are not chosing to have a vegan Thanksgiving.  I feel like it's a something I can do to "make up" for the turkey they will be eating.

I sponsored one named Grasshopper (best turkey name ever), but she was adopted by a veterinarian in Connecticut, so my sponsorship was transfered to a turkey named Ruby.  Last Christmas, I sponsored a turkey as a gift to my dad and stepmom.  Her name is Aya, and she is the cutest little turkey.  I'm hoping to convince them to take over her sponsorship this year.

This is the first year I have sponsored one through Farm Sanctuary and sponsored Skip. I thought after I did the adoption today that I would come on here and post a link for others to adopt too, but I can see the thread was started 3 years ago (way before I came to this forum haha).

I can't wait to show my family the turkey adoption, since my family consists of vegans and pescartarians. They will appreciate it, since I put it in my family's name.

Oh wow. This seems like a great idea, AC. Thanks for bringing it back and bringing it to our attention. I'd like to donate if I get some money.

We sponsored Velma last year through Farm Sanctuary. I'm not sure who we will sponsor this year, but it really is a lovely idea and what better way to have a truly blessed Thanksgiving than to help the turkeys and show them some genuine love :)
