Using Turmeric as a Dye?

I know it can be done. But two questions: What's the proportion to water? And does it last?
I should think it would, the stains certainly do.
Thing is, one of my students brought me a white I  :)>>> NY T-shirt a few months ago. And today I managed to get turmeric on it. Which won't come out. So I'm considering dying it with turmeric so it will be yellow all over instead of just obviously Property of Miss Sloppy Pig.

What say you, Veg Web?

Or as my DD would do, random purposeful additional stains to make it look like the spots were on purpose.

As to how long it lasts, I think monks redye annually, so a bit less than that.

Now, see--this is why I love VW. You guys rock. Thanks for the vid, HH. Seeing it done helps. I'll go with a plain dyejob. Maybe after it's done I'll "fix" it with a vinegar solution, now that we have white vinegar here.
