30 day shred!

I know several of us are doing the 30 day shred with Jillian Michaels, so we can talk about it here. I've really liked it. I like Anita better, but I do what Natalie's doing. I'm still on level 1, and I think today is day 6. I haven't done it consecutively, because I didn't feel like doing it during my sick with cold death-phase, but I think I can do every day now. On to level 2, soon! I'm annoyed that I can't skip past Jill's speech at the beginning, but oh well!

There are 3 levels, and the workouts are 20 minutes (might take longer since you have to go through the beginning stuff, and such, but it's a short/intensive workout). Definitely very manageable. I think the idea is to do level one for like 10 days (until you feel comfortable with it), then move on to level 2, and so forth. Then, you can rotate/do other stuff.

Are you gonna do it? I don't know how long you can keep Netflix stuff....
I know that KMK, MDV, and Pixie are doing it. Maybe Meggs? I am, too. Duh.
We have THE WORST apartment for sound buffering, and it's really not that bad. I mean, it's probably annoying to our downstairs neighbors (the cardio stuff, which involves some light jumping), but they can handle it for a few minutes...if anyone was wondering about that.

I love this workout, although I'm still on level one. I will honestly be on level one for a while. I'm a tad out of shape (and that's being nice about it).

The only thing I have noticed is that one of my knees is tender. I'm almost positive that I'm not doing the side lunges correctly.

I figure the noise is no louder than sex noises, and I don't care about those, so they can take the 2 minute cardio intervals.

I bought it.....I've only watched the first section.  Haven't tried it yet but it looks like it'll be good.  I'm worried about the noise too...I live on the second floor.  Supposedly the old woman that lives below is hard of hearing but I still don't want to sound like a herd of elephants is running around in my apartment.

Those side lunges are hard! I really feel like circuit 1 is the HARDEST. Like, once that's done..I'm fine. I know side lunges are in circuit 3, but still. Pushups+squats with raises!

I am so interested and almost bought the video but then you say "lunges" and "squats".  Grrrr!

I wish it had no knee impact at all, then I could try it.  Maybe I will Netflix it and see how bad it is first.  hhmmm

There is an option to do a "less intensive" workout (with Anita..the good one). She doesn't do full lunges/squats, and only goes partially down. I have a bad knee, too, but I'm able to do the regular ones (with lots of popping and grinding sounds). But, I don't normally have pain. You could always just do the partial ones, right?

I am going to order this today...I have been procrastinating but I have a gift card so I am going to order that and a couple of books from amazon.. :D<--- excited face.

Oh, thats good to know AC!  I put it in my Netflix Queue and move it near the top.  Once I can work out I shall give it a go.  Unfortunately my antibiotics are not recommended for hard work outs.  Not helping me get fit are they? haha

Oh, and it's really cheezy in the beginning. I guess maybe I'm just not accustomed to workout dvds, but I was like  :o. Plus, it has this horrible music (not actually in the workout). But, then it gets all normal and fine.

Thank you for saying this!! I feel the same - I wear out quickly with the pushups. Once I recover from that I do ok.

I am also doing this dvd. I have made it to level 2. It is harder but I like it. So glad other people are liking this also. She says "buddy" too much for my tastes and I agree with the cheesy music, but oh well.  8)

i just tried this for the first time. level 1 obviously. i did about 12 minutes of it (like half of each part) and had to stop. its a great workout but all my muscles are shaking lol. i'm gonna have to work my way into it

Shred updates? Shred was hard tonight after an 8 hour work day (standing/walking/running around) + bike rides!

i haven't done it since wednesday night the first time i tried it because my body still screams at me every time i move

am i supposed to keep doing it though? if my body hurts and i keep doing it, does it go away? or should i wait til my muscles dont hurt anymore

I am taking a break. My knee hurts, not just when I do it, but randomly throughout the day when I'm walking and such. I will continue with the shred when it gets better.

I know, whine! whine! whine!

Y'all keep me updated because I'm interested in this thing now. If y'all see results I might just have to get off my lazy ass and do it too!
