Craving carbs...anyone else?

Hello :) I am 5'6 and about 130 lbs..I am trying to get back to 120-125 lbs...I am still breastfeeding my 17 month old as well. I eat about 1500-1700 calories a day including about 6 servings of carbs (bread, rice, oatmeal, etc.) but for some reason I still crave bread products..I want to bake and eat bread and banana bread all the time..Does anyone else have this issue? I eat very healthy, lots of tofu, veggies and fruits. Any advice????

When I crave carbs, having extra protein (like protein powder) helps.

Usually when someone craves lots of carbs and fat they're stressed out. Maybe try making sure you're getting lots of B vitamins and try to relax. Also, you can always bump up your exercise a bit which might make you feel a bit better and help you to work off the extra carbs.

Thank you guys...I have felt a little stressed, part of it due to the weather. It makes it hard to get out and exercise..I have to come up with a winter routine so I can keep it up. I think part of me just loves bread :)>>> I will have to work on it tho! I think I will feel better when my husband gets home to, he has been outta town for the last 6 weeks! Only 2 left...Thanks again all

You might be just plain old hungry.  Is that enough calories for a breast feeding mother?

Thats what I have been trying to figure out...When you are breastfeeding a newborn you need an extra 700ish calories a day, but my baby is 17 months old and eats regular food too, so the breastfeeding is supplemental to her diet. I'm going to ask on her next Dr appt to see if I eat enough cause I know I still have lots of milk :)
