Ear infection help....

For the past week I have had a bad pain in my left ear and it has also been making popping noises (probably from the fluid in my ear). I thought that it would go away on it's own by now, but it has not  :( Does anyone know of any ways that I can get rid of this darn ear infection? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

All i can think of is antibiotics from a doctor if it is an infection. I'm not sure of anything simpler. I'll think about it though.

a few drops (3 tops!) of a 50/50 solution of rubbing alcohol and white vinegar morning and night and before and after any showering/swimming/any activity where your head is submerged/etc. If it doesn't get better in a week doing this, then it is time to go to the doctor.

I had "bathtub ear" once and got some stuff that worked.  It was a mixture, but the main ingredient was iodine.  I don't have an iodine allergy, so I was fine using it.  It cleared my ear issues up right away.

I use drops of hydrogen peroxide-you can hear it crackling. My mom used to tell me it was the sound of it fighting off the infection.

A heating pad works wonders.

And, the health food store sells a garlic/mullein oil that works too. Heat up a spoon by running it under hot water. Then drop some oil on it, then suck it up in the squeeze thing and put it in your ear.

I've not had to go to the doc for any ear infections by using these methods. Either one of them, or a combination of them.

Good luck!

Is there some reason you don't want to go to a doctor about this?  I would just go.

Another point:  My dad (now 81)  used to get ear infections as a kid in the days before antibiotics, and he lost a good chunk of his hearing that way.  No high frequencies at all--can't even hear the higher notes on a piano.  I'd get it checked out.
